"Live" from Atlanta 2017
 

Since we are not allowed to stack until 7am tomorrow (Wed), we are still in Charlotte across the street from the track in the Pro holding lot. Only a couple of other rigs here now. I don't know where everyone else went, but we decided to stay here where we knew we could fit rather than try to find a spot further down the road. We plan to leave here very early in the morning to avoid Charlotte rush hour! We should be in stacking by mid morning. I sure wish they would go ahead and park tomorrow since there is 90% chance of rain on Thursday! But oh well!

If anyone finds that they are starting things earlier, please let us know!

That was me fussing about getting up early! Larry is up bright and early every day but I like to sleep in!

Only around 70 rigs here when we came in for the evening!

I have been celebrating my birthday today with all of our racing friends here in Atlanta. We went out for a great dinner at Koji Japanese Steakhouse for dinner, then had cake provided by Mrs. Alice. Pam has cupcakes for tomorrow and Janette Lux brought by a cheesecake when we got back. Thanks to all of you!! I sure feel loved!!

We are all moved in and set up for the weekend! Looks like most are in and happy! Registration with Mrs. Wilma and Mrs. Gloria went terrific again this morning! No waiting! It has not started raining yet but it is a lot cooler and the rain should be here soon! Not many cars out! I don't know if I will get many pictures this weekend but anyone else feel free to post here!

Schedule has been changed for tomorrow! We now just get 2 runs then 1st round on Saturday morning! It has rained all afternoon off and on. Nothing hard but just enough to keep everyone inside! The temperature is down to the 40s in the morning and up to 50% chance of rain tomorrow afternoon! But after that, it is looking like a beautiful weekend!

Good morning from wet Commerce, GA. It rained overnight and again a little bit this morning! I think I hear the track dryers out! It is cloudy now and 51 degrees going up to a high of 57 this afternoon! Low chance of rain until about 2 this afternoon and it goes to about 45%. Uh-oh! I just looked out and I see a shadow! Oops! By the time I got this written, it was gone again! We haven't heard anything on the radio or gotten any texts yet, so I am assuming everything is starting on time at 8 with super street first, then stock!

Heads up super stock class is a causality due to the weather, quickest car in class wins. Just a little good news, the sun is peaking though the low hanging clouds and to the west looks clear and blue. Cross your fingers and hope.

That big orange ball has made an appearance in the sky and Stock has been called to the lanes!! Super street is first, then us!! Weather looking pretty good until around 6 this evening.

Well Mr. Jim got us on a hole shot! .007 to Larry's .034! Larry went 10.02 to Jim's 10.04. He got us by .008! That is racing! That was the first time that they have ever run each other. We owe you one now, Jim!!

What a great race! I was on the losing end of one of those for class last weekend by .003 and I can say it is still fun even when we loose. I would like to see a best 2 out 3 between those two!

Well as I am sure you have seen on DRC it began raining at the end of the Pro session and everything was cancelled for the rest of the evening. The race begins again at 8 in the morning with round 3 of super street, then round 3 of stock. Round 2 of super stock is sometime after that.

I want to thank Jeff Adkinson and family (especially Kaitlyn) for bandaging Larry up after his little mishap in the trailer this afternoon! Also to Joe and Alice for the ice bags and help, too! I am sure he will be sore tomorrow but as he says "just anther stupid old man trick!" Between the two of us maybe we need to just stay home!

My thoughts on the best entitlement letter written was way back in 2002. I don't know who penned the letter, but it was most effective.

Rule books, I have both. It depends upon on what direction of travel we go as to what book is on top of the nitestand.

Jim has a faster car than we do, I believe he took a little out of it on top end.

I got beat fair and square and had one heck of a good time in the process, a tip of the hat to Mr Jim and crew. I'm looking forward to the next time we meet.

To me heads up racing is what I enjoy the most.

Got to go back to work on the car and the practice tree. Jim gave me an old fashion butt whipping on the starting line.

My main rule book is neither east nor west, but upwardly vertical. No ornery track officials or glib interpretations of facts there. Just the real thing!

Between the two of us maybe we need to just stay home!

Just be careful and take care of each other. You guys have too many friends to be at home. Plus, all the photos and stories that you share, Patsy. Makes for wonderful reading and viewing each time you are on a trip.

I also think Larry enjoys the competition and hanging with all the racers at each stop. Stay safe and keep on doing what you guys do for as long as possible.
