That would be my guess

Re: New A/SA In Minnesota

At the Midwest class races he had been running very well in B/sa, my guess is he is almost at b weight in a. Heard he just had to switch the intake and a few other things to get to get to reg stock class, to get away from the out of control factory stock. Tom

Looks like Uncle Al had to change rods, pistons, crank, and intake and the COPO cam will check but if he wanted to, a cam change to the street cam would improve lift.

Well, at least he didn't have to change the rear end.

I heard A B and C's Indy Class winners are already decided anyway. Better off knowing now, that way everyone can pull out and save the money for curtains. I do hate to see dreams crushed though.

Pretty sad if that's what it takes to beat up on 50 year old combo's. But what ever makes them feel good.

Well said NO new cars should fit into any classes that the old cars do.

Cheering for the 55 year old car that has to be the ugliest car ever built. Lol. Shaul and Larry would be a player too.

Personally think that anyone posting $$ and prizes for the A/S and A/SA challenge should stipulate it can't be a newer car...oh yea, AHFS will fix it, yea right, with new car combos added to the guide constantly, don't think so.

Sounds like they have been bagging for a long time, think we'll see any real numbers, running all out? The bitching about the "intake" sounds kinda silly now, but that depends on what side of the fence you're on.

Wade, I know a couple of vintage factory hot rods that won't be laying down for anyone.
Somebody might have to show their hand if they're going to be a predetermined winner

Re: New A/SA In Minnesota

Nothing is decided until the race is done. We still have to go out and compete. It's Indy and nothing is for certain other than anything can happen. Bring it all on, just because a car is bad *** and better on paper then anyone else doesn't guarantee the final victory. There will be some very good cars in that class with good drivers. To me it's anyone's race.

Re: New A/SA In Minnesota

If they ran races off paper, there would be no need to race! Strange things can happen!

Larry Hill 08-14-2017 10:46 PM

Re: New A/SA In Minnesota

But the 413 car is the record holder and everyone wants a shot at the record holder. Steve went .001 in the finals of class last year but now he is a year older, who knows? He is still bad fast!

Hey Wade can we all run D since they've already written the checks for A/SA through C/SA? LOL...it's gonna be fun regardless, a good *** whipping just makes me work harder so I'll be there guns blazing!

Just one question - for now -

How does a vehicle lose 600 some-odd pounds between 2010 and 2015?

Magic? :D

No. Not magic. The spec. that GM submitted for the 2010 Camaro is awful. That is why no one has built one. I purchased a zero option 1 SS to prove that the spec. was wrong.

My wife's 2007 Escalade is equipped with the 6.2 (376) and it is rated 403 by GM. Ten years of development, DPI, etc. and it lost 38 HP, amazing.

Jimmy, nhra stopped being a legitimate sanctioning organization years ago. They will take money from any source and compromise their membership to accommodate that money source. Chevrolet is a TV sponsor and will get what ever it wants. Each year the product/service that nhra offers ALL racers loses value while the cartel in Glendora feeds at the trough.

So you are saying that all of the pre 2007 HP numbers submitted by the OEM's were right?

Why wouldn't they be? I doubt they would misrepresent the specs on the vehicle as it could get them in legal trouble with the consumers.

It is an absolute documented fact that a lot of the combinations in the sixties were underated.

According to Chevrolet, the showroom cars in NHRA racing were based off the CRC or Competition Racing Chasses (body in white) the shipping weight (3150) was based on a 'lighter" showroom engine vs the Copo (3195). Based on our CRC based on Copo, to determine the weight, as it is assumed Ford and Dodge used their Cobra Jet and Drag Pak when determining Showroom shipping weights.

That's pretty good.

Now I'm sure we all agree that is a good way to determine the shipping weight. I mean we are only talking 500 lbs or so. No big deal. Sherman, Boudreau, Cummins & Cummins (sound like lawyers) Hill, Shaul, and all the others agree with this so it's OK? What yall think/

The boat sailed on this way before the 2015 Camaro was submitted.
