Think Im going the wrong way for timing on the Corvette, doesn't like 38 more towards 32 is better. Thoughts??

Vortex/LT1 like 32 degree.
Standard kidney chamber seem to like 38.

Did you check your timing light against another and your tdc tab is correct. In the end whatever it wants give it!!!

Hi Ron, I run your same combo and when I ran out in Div 5 my Nova liked 42 degree in first and second and retard to 37 in third. I only run Sunoco Purple because I'm cheap!

Did you check tdc with the head off, to see if balancer and pointer agree?

Most of those I have worked with liked 34 degrees on C11.

Ed, less rimming when you use c11? In 10-1 compression

My LT1 likes less timing with C11. Runs faster on C11. Don't see how less timing could be a bad thing. Likes 35 on the dyno on C11. We don't race dyno. Runs more MPH with 36 degrees in high gear. GM calls it 10.5-1.

Damper slipped, pointer wrong, light messed up...really though, numbers mean nothing, just find what it likes and run it there. More efficient chambers like less timing in general but for a carbed 350, make a couple passes trying a little each way, what it likes is the correct amount.

He/we need a "number" for a reference when putting it back together next time.
