"Live From" Englishtown LODRS

Good afternoon all, yes its me again. If feels like a just left Indy, oh yeah I did. We just pulled in about hour ago, there are about 75 rigs already in the stacking area. Track opens at 4pm today. The weather is supposed to be perfect for the weekend with temps in the low 70's and no rain.

When I got here I heard some bad news about a trailer that caught fire in the stacking area. John Kurzenberger races a '67 SS/FA Camaro. His 5th wheel trailer with a lounge caught fire while he was sleeping. He was with his wife and 3 dogs. They all got out safe and he was able to get the race car out and the dually unhook. The trailer could not be saved, he lost everything in the trailer, tools, part, tires and everything in the lounge. What a tough break for John. The first photo is John's car under a tree next to where he was parked, he pick the car a few moments ago.

Good morning all, with bright skies and cool cool temps, it should make for a fast day. If you are looking to set a record, today's the day.

Temp 61
Humid 60%
Bar 30.02
DA 600ft
Wind none.

We start at 10am here at Etown because of a noise ordnance. I'm going to try a live stream when Super Stock runs today so check the Class Racer face book. Facebook Link.... I will try to link it here too and let you know what time, but I'm thinking about 11:30 Super Stock will be up.

Fire Marshal said there was a kink in the propane line.

Stock just finished up with Q1, Super Stock is in the lanes, I'm heading over to the finish line to live stream. Jump over to facebook in about 30 mins. Facebook Link

Wow, its been a horrible day for oil downs and race cars wrecking. We had a few oil downs, but more seriously, we had two wrecks. The photos below show what happen to the COPO. We heard that a tire went down.

The next incident was Lou Centolanza is his 69 Barracuda, he could not slow the car down and went into the safety net. they are still working on the net and we will be down for a while. Both drivers are okay.

I will have a qualifying sheets up for Stock and Super later today.

That's a really hard hit. It had to have spun around and backed straight into the wall. I'm guessing they could back-half it and turn it into a F/SS car.

I'm not sure, the C pillar is pretty beat up but anythings possible. The first photo is Lou Centolanza's 69 Barracuda before he went into the safety net. Doug Walker sent me that photo. He will post photos from today's action later tonight. Kalyn Guenther gave me the second photo of Charlie Malo before his crash. I have few batch's of photos from Kalyn Guenther, so stay tuned.

There were no qualifying sheets posted. Go to live timing for qualifying. http://www.nhra.com/results/2017/luc...ock-eliminator

Yo Ken!
Would be highly interested to hear what the word is on the tire, if in fact it was blowout or cut or not?

Terrible news about the fire and crashes. Prayers sent and fingers crossed that the guys and gals involved are able to bounce back. Just glad nobody hurt. Thanks for the great photos and updates; please keep them coming!

Brett, I will do my best to find out what the cause was.

Thanks Doug for the great camera work.

Good morning everyone, weather for today is a repeat of yesterday. We did have some unexpected rain last night, but its all clear now. Temperature is a chilly 55, but will warm up nicely by mid day to around 70. There is no run schedule as of yet. Yesterdays delay's will mostly likely see a major change in the schedule. I will post it as soon as I here something. Start time is 10am as always at Englishtown. The photo below is Joe Cokinos 96 S-10's catastrophic engine failure. As you can see you can't see Joe as the smoke just engulfed his S-10 and lingered for a few minutes.

Re: "Live From" Englishtown LODRS

He guys, sorry for the lack of reports, but I almost became a statistic this weekend also. With all the bad luck that has happen to racers this week it looked as if I was next. During Stock eliminators last qualifying shot this morning we had an oil down. It probably happen a dozen or more pairs ahead of me.

My car left the starting okay, it made a little move out of the grove, but nothing I haven't done before. As soon as the car landed I was going to start to bring is back and at that moment it made a hard right. I just prayed Anthony Bongiovanni, my sponsor saw me. Lucky for me he spun the tires and we had a little distance between us. It does not look bad in the video, but it could have turned very ugly. It turns out there was a little oil left on the track after the clean up. It was just a little left of the grove from the center line. My tire just barely grazed it thankfully, god knows what would have happened if I got into all of it.

The schedule has changed a bunch today, and Stock is still schedule to run first round as soon as everyone gets their qualifying shots in. I am thinking about 4pm today. Sorry folks but I wont have time for a live steam today

Good morning everyone, we are home safe and sound. Just want to say thank you to every body for all the help. Can't say enough about NHRA racers, especially Div.1, there is no better and thanks to raceway park personnel, old bridge police and fire dept.We lost a lot of parts and equipment. Luckily we have family in the area and that made things easier, nobody was hurt that's all that matters ,car is safely tucked away, but don"t be surprised to see it show up at atco testing, just kidding. Once again special thanks to my new best friend with the bolt cutters, don't remember his name. We will be back better, stronger and who knows maybe a little faster.now let keep everybody affected by IRMA in our thoughts. Once again thanks everybody.
