Re: Hi everybody!!

Welcome to the board, Daniel! Nice to have a "forced induction" guy to talk with, here.

Do you intend to run your Buick in Stock Eliminator, or maybe Super Stock?

I am a big fan of those cars (the 3.8 V-6s with "hairdryers") and although I don't have one, myself (my car is a Vortech supercharged 360 Mopar A-Body), I continue to be amazed at what these G/N's can do with such a small motor! I have breakfast every Saturday with about 5 or 6 owners of these T types, and most of them race, but not in "Class Legal" trim.

Tell us about your car and what plans you have for running it. We're all ears... :)

Re: Hi everybody!!

gonna run the car in stock, the boss men have ss/gt a stick car (bray & gillam) so again im no stranger to the class requirements. the car should be cheaper to run in stock & i think it will be competitive since nhra hasn't slammed in it w/ to much horsepower, also the stuff youre allowed to change in super stock puts more a higher level of deficiency on the things i hafta leave alone of this particular car/combo in my opinion. also when was the last time somebody had one of these out? it's been a while i'm sure. if nothing else it will be fun & and a learning experience. the turbo flutter burnouts will turn a few heads anyways :D just hope nobody starts giving me a hard time about having "adjustable horspower"

Re: Hi everybody!!

How cool; looks like this G/N or T-Type can run in either D or E/FIA The 290 HP NHRA horsepower factor would seem to be about right for that car, I think, and will allow you to run in either of those classes pretty competitively, I think.

I can't recall seeing an intercooled turbo G/N in Stock Eliminator, but I don't get around that much. :(

My buddies who race their G/N's in the brackets all warn that if the car ever REALLY hooks, the quarter-panels WILL wrinkle, so if you haven't dealt with this problem so far, rest assured it's coming...

Please keep us posted on your plans; I'd drive quite a ways just to see such a car in competition!
Thanks loads for making us aware of your intentions. This is going to be fun and VERY interesting!!

Best of luck with your project!!!

Re: Hi everybody!!

since its fuel injected it will run in D or E/FI, but yes the weight breaks are in the same area for G & H stock. the index for D/FIA is 12.30 for E/FIA its 12.60 i plan on running it in E since it will be a bit on the porky side having all the power accessories it has(windows, locks, sunroof,) but running under the 12.60 index should be little problem for the car!!:)

I think maybe the last one I saw campaigned regularly was Marka Gallina's car. She and John swapped it back and forth between 85 non intercooled and 86 intercooled a few times. A friend of mine, Nick Micale, used to help them.

Daniel, try looking on turbobuick.com. Nick used to be a regular there. I think he posts under his name.

What kind of unique rules apply to factory power adders in stock, the rulebook doesn't seem to be a very good resource. I am thinking of eventually building a stocker out of my S/C Monte Carlo.

Daniel, you need to talk to John Craig in Lake Havasu AZ for your turbo.
