Look it up.
The combo looks like it went 10 rounds with Sonny Liston.

The Granada is a little heavy (3260 plus driver) and the 302 horsepower was adjusted up in August of this year when the Maverick was hit. I'm not sure why they lumped the Maverick and Granada together. Even at 163 hp it could run under the index, in my opinion.

If its a V-8 car that would be a plus so you don't have to chase down heads and an intake. Pre 1980 Granadas have leaf spring rear ends, and either an 8 inch, 9 inch, 7.5 or a wierdo 8.7 according to some folks. Front suspension is the older Ford stuff, common.

If the interior is rough that could be a challenge finding the correct panels etc. I went through that with my Fairmont.

It would be a unique addition to U/SA.

Not likley a dime rocket BTW.

Good luck.

Why would this still not go 1.20 +under.?
I get everyone is spoiled with 129 -147 hp combos which have 2.00+ under potential?

I doubt that it could be gotten light enough. Later Granadas are based on the Fairmont.
I keep waiting for someone to do an 80 with a VV carb. I've played with them, they'll flow lots of air and still at 130 HP.

That appears to be the vaunted Ghia model.

There are certainly lavish, opulent and comfortable appointments visible. I distinctly remember the new interior smell. The burl wood dash trim is quite elegant with just a smatter of sophistication designed to please all but the the most discriminate among us.

How about waiting for the premier opportunity to campaign the flagship Versailles? A sprightly 135 when equipped with the 351 combination.

It should, but I wouldn't bother, even if it was free.
As Billy pointed out, there are still many others rated lower.

well this idea is dead, the auction company throws on way too much ectra fees and outs this car out of reach.

They might have done you a favor Dave.
I owned one years ago, and even with two doors, it`s pretty homely looking.

I once had a 1978 Ford Fairmont 4-dr sedan with the 85HP 200" six. Why on earth is it factored by NHRA to 140HP? The same year 302 is still at the original factory 139hp factor. Did someone bomb the index at some point?

Has anyone ever tried the Lincoln Versailles combo ?

I had a '78 model and thought it looked cool
