Re: The Passing of Bill Spyder Spanakos
Back when the NHRA World Finals were held here in Tulsa (mid 1960s) we saw so many Div 1 record holders come here, and were not fast at all. Monster Mash was fast here too. Very impressive.

Re: The Passing of Bill Spyder Spanakos
I remember getting SS&Di sometime during '65 and reading the article about Bill's Monster Mash 55 until I just about wore the magazine out. Spyder and Bill Jenkins were way above everyone else in jr stock at that time. I met him in Gainesville a few years ago when he was running his '65 Chevelle wagon and mentioned to him how much I loved the article and may still have it and he was very kind and genuinely appreciative that he was so well remembered.
RIP Spyder |
Re: The Passing of Bill Spyder Spanakos
Rest In Peace Spyder. Remember traveling with him to the LV division race in '95 when I was driving a second car for Andy Kinash and Joe Demarzo. Loved hearing his stories about the old days with Bill Jenkins. Will be missed dearly.
