How About A Live From Barrett Jackson?
Will we see Mike and Paula add to their collection?
Show us some cool stuff! |
Re: How About A Live From Barrett Jackson?
How about NO. He gets too much publicity already. Its not racing relevant. The cars are usually overpriced junk. Some of us really dont care about the absurdly rich spending too much money on buy sell tv. One of the best things about being in TX is I can turn it off and not have to live through it. PS Craig Jackson is a Liar, Thief and a Crook who doesnt pay his bills......

Re: How About A Live From Barrett Jackson?
Wow
No worries I have no plans to post on this forum anything about me or the numerous other drag racers that will be there having a good time. |
Re: How About A Live From Barrett Jackson?
I was there for the first time on Sunday and I thought it was pretty cool. Kind of like Disney. You can't see it all in 1 day.

Your opinion is fine , please turn off your TV but some of us in the frozen TUNDRA were wondering if First in the nines Bobby D. and his cohort Diamond Jim Meador were stirring about at the BJ auction...... |

Re: How About A Live From Barrett Jackson?
I went on Monday with my grandson. The weather was perfect (71 and sunny). The cars are unbeleiveable. A number of new Mustang Cobra Jet cars and some older ones also. There was a Drag Pak V10 that had a rollbar delete option.I don't understand why that you would buy one like that. I guess that you would like to have your favorite chassis guy do it for you.If you ever have a chance to go don't pass it up. Yesterday I went to Sotheby's preview. Cars were even more impressive there. Some are expected to go for $2,000,000.00. There was a restored Tucker there. It is expected to go for about $1,000,000.00. I dont have a photo bucket account so I can't post pictures. Back to the tundra on Friday.

Re: How About A Live From Barrett Jackson?
Mike Cotton is one of the most stand up guys I have ever met!
He is one of the most dedicated Stock/Super Racers that I ever met......I bet He has won more races than you have ever run! We used to not get along real well years back (Hard sometimes when you same class and similar combo)....... But I always respected the man and his abilities! He has worked his b*tt off all his life to be in a position to be able to race......Just like a lot of us!! Do you have a Name Mr Stocker396? Mine is John Irving Stop by and visit if you are ever at a National or Divisional race and I am at all the Western Races! I would enjoy chatting with you at more detail on this topic. That is all I better say.....I do not want to get banned on this site(Again). |
Re: How About A Live From Barrett Jackson?
On the other hand , for the rich mooks amongst you who bought Cobra Jets , Drag Paks and Copos to store away and not race....
The Drag Pak V10 Mike Fuller mentioned sold for $47,000, minus the 10% commission, the entry fee, shipping it there, etc. The car before it was a 2012 Cobra Jet for $61,000. |
Re: How About A Live From Barrett Jackson?
Was a little surprised by the lack of enthusiasm for the factory cars, supply has definitely caught up to demand. The Challenger T/A at 155K was a pleasant surprise, particularly liked the story about a team showing up for a Trans Am race and the top caving in when a tech man put his beer can on it. Oops! A little too long in the acid tank. They then went to a dealership and cut the top off a new Challenger to draft onto the car to make the race.

This is about promoting the fake circus that is Barrett Jackson. I hate what it has done to the car hobby, I hate his ego and most of the garbage that rolls through there is "get rich quick" speculators. #2 John I Get/Got along with you real well in the past too. I have raced with you and against you in Div 7 ALOT. (Never beat you BUT did race you and Jon too) #3 We have ALL worked hard and long to enjoy this hobby and I hate to see a thief like Jackson rip off fellow racers. The only way I can help prevent it is to inform others to his shenanigans. Not a insult to ANYONE here! Just Craig Jackson. I have personal experience in dealing with him and his kind. I left the auction scene because of it. ( I was a buyers consultant at Russo and Steele) I dont want it to corrupt class racing. #4 I will gladly come visit you in the pits and say hi next time I see you! We can catch up and I will Explain... Most Importantly my anger/disdain is not towards ANY racer Especially the Cottens.......Just Craig Jackson and his Dumb auction and TV media Circus..... Lets keep our eye on the ball and save Stock/Super stock racing.... |
Re: How About A Live From Barrett Jackson?

Re: How About A Live From Barrett Jackson?
This place was full of very rich people. Many of which had thier trophy wives /girlfriends with them. They are not interested in the factory race cars and this is not the place to sel them. They are mostly older and not in the kind of physical condition to work on and race a car.(Not that I am young by any sense of the word) There is a Dodge Drag Pak at the Russo and Steele auction. I beleive it is /was Les Norton's car. I'll take a look and see what it went for.

Re: How About A Live From Barrett Jackson?
Can't fault a guy for being rich and having his kind of trophy. He probably gets more attention with his than we do with ours. LOL
