Max Wedge Interesting Fact
You MOPAR diehards probably know this, but I thought it was interesting that though there are Stage II and Stage III Max Wedges, there is not, and has never been, a Stage I.

Re: Max Wedge Interesting Fact
The "Stage 1" was of course never known as such but it was the original 1962 413. Subsequent improvements were Stage II and Stage III. The term "Max Wedge" was not even thought of back in those days. I don't know when that term became popular. (I was racing back when the first 413 came out)

Re: Max Wedge Interesting Fact
Here's how I remember it. Stage I was a de facto term but NOT for the 1962 413. In mid 1963, Chrysler enhanced the 426 with bigger carbs and a couple of other improvements and called it a Stage II thus the early '63 became the de facto Stage 1. The '64 motor was the Stage III.
As an aside, NHRA never allowed the larger carbs on the '63 models. Al Corda, the LS guy |

WINNER!!!!! Fought with nhra over this for years somewhere i have factory paper work from Chrysler for dealer service and parts dept.that states the 3705's carbs are replacement for the 3447 on all models and years, 3447 carbs were no longer available for purchase. the 3447 was nothing more then an adapted long ram carb. |
Re: Max Wedge Interesting Fact
I am confused......................Can I now run 3705 car on

I just found these pics on a Mopar barn finds facebook page. This guy found it in a junk yard or out in the woods in Nebraska and the aluminum appears to be in good shape, I would have a heart attack if I saw it and got it cheap.

Re: Max Wedge Interesting Fact
I could....63 Dodge 330 CM Cage/Engine fresh from top Mopar Engine guy
in Colo. ($12,000 to do heads) built for SS/GA or F. Turnkey $24,000. Ran a few tenths under..... Will get WAYmore expensive by the week as it goes faster and it will!!! Spare Heads/ Milodon System/Wheels/Tires Fresh air hood and a whole trailer load of spares! Not actively for sale but.......... I would sell it at this moment for that!!!! I spent the whole week and a bucket of money and time redoing entire rear suspension and 3rd member switch 5:38 to 4:86 and I am tired! It will not be advertised for sale. |
