Diesel repair in Gainesville
Well got up this morning to thunder storms and threats of tornadoes started the coach and its not happy. Anyone have the name of a good and trustworthy diesel repair shop near the track? I'm going to take a look and change filters when the sun comes up and it stops raining. Thanks Robbie

Re: Diesel repair in Gainesville
Robbie, last year I used a mobile repair guy who came from Ocala. Can’t remember the name but if you google it they were ok. You could also call Jim Wahl who lives near the track. Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA

Re: Diesel repair in Gainesville
Mike thanks, I got a recommendation from a local racer the guys name is Mike Helton I don't have Jim Wahl's number. I talked to Helton he's looking into the code I have also changed the fuel filters and replaced the part the code said (a transient suppressor) its an electrical component in the fuel system. The engine in my RV is a 1999 Cummins ISC 330 HP. Any help from anyone would be appreciate. 301-481-3782 Thanks Robbie

Re: Diesel repair in Gainesville
Just wanted to update where this adventure is. We made the trip to Ocala Cummins to get the replacement part. That did not help I changed fuel filters (they where new for this trip) no luck. I have a tech coming from Ring Power to run diagnostics and we'll go from there. This has been an adventure but not necessarily the good kind. But I want to take a minute to thank everyone that's call or texted with help or just to make sure we're ok and we are. The racing family sure is a close knit family and I'm so proud to be a member. We'll know more tomorrow thanks everyone.

Re: Diesel repair in Gainesville
Well its looking a little better. Appears its an ECM problem. Were going to try a reflash and go from there. Thanks to everyone and especially Terry Nagel for all his help.

Re: Diesel repair in Gainesville
Well the old ECM was dead and could not be reflashed. A new ECM has been ordered and will be here tomorrow. I hopeful this will take care of the problem. Thanks again for all the calls and texts. More tomorrow.

Re: Diesel repair in Gainesville
Well day 4 and were still here. I know the cows over in the field by name now. The track has been good about this and not said a thing about being here(not much I could do about it). The repair shop got the ECM yesterday but had some problem's with there insite program and had to do some upgrading so it would down load the program to the new ECM. They call yesterday evening and said the new ECM is ready so we'll be heading back up to Lake City to pick it up thanks again to Terry Nagel. He has gone far above beyond helping us and I can't thank him enough. The racing family has really come together to help and show there concern Thanks to all. We should know by midday if this gets us going, I sure hope so.

Re: Diesel repair in Gainesville
Well we're on the road again (thank God). The new ECM did the trick. We made the trip back up to Lake city to pick up the ECM thanks again to Terry. After I got it installed I spun over the old Cummins and didn't think it was going to fire then it came back to life. Needless to say I didn't shut it off until we reached our new home and it ran perfectly. We our now save and sound at our new home (for a few weeks) with race friends nearby. I want to take a minute to say Thank you to all for the calls, texts and concern shown for us. It was truly hart warming. I also want to give credit where credit is due. First to Randy from Ring Power he made the correct diagnosis of a bad ECM, Secondly Dwayne from Tom Nehl Trucks. Dwayne got the ECM in and reprogramed and I'm sure he made it a high priority. And last but never least Terry Nagel. Terry went way out of his way taking us to Lake City numerous times and wouldn't take a dime and stay right there until we got the RV run. Thank you Terry your a great guy. So that's it Life is good again. We'll see you at the races. Thanks again Robbie & Teresa
