New Cars
Barbara and I had a wreck in her Mini a few weeks ago and the insurance company decided it was a total loss. We have spent the last few weeks looking for a replacement for it. Want small because we haul it in the Stacker as a get around car at the races. Really disappointed in the new car offerings out there. Everything looks the same. Anybody seen anything they like lately. Thanks, Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA

The Honda Fit is the best small car made. You should check it out before you buy anything.

Re: New Cars
How much space in your hauler? How much do you drive it other than at the track? How much space do you need in the " mini car"?

Re: New Cars
I believe the rebate in Sept. was $5,500 from Ford plus the discount from dealer. They are building a new design 2019 Focus...Building in in China and importing it according to my Dealer (Hence the BIG rebate)
I bought it from Ford Country in Henderson Nevada...I can give you contact #. |
Re: New Cars
Thanks for the ideas. We have looked at most of these. Liked the focus and the Cruze. Have really been trying to stay narrow enough that I can open door enough to get out. Just trying to avoid having to winch car in. I’ll let you know what we find.

Re: New Cars
With the Saturn and the Impala I take my shoes off, drive it in and crawl out the window. Sometimes we will pull it in.

Re: New Cars
Ford would give all racers X-plan and I assume they still do. Depending on the model it can be significant savings. Maybe other manufacturers have similar programs as well.
Taking nothing away from Ford Country (mentioned earlier in thread, great dealer) Tasca is a site sponsor and I am sure they know all the angles for the deepest discount. I would call and ask for Carl Sr. or Jr and tell them you're a Class Racer member. Most dealers will do a courtesy delivery to your location. Or maybe Tasca brings it to the track (half kidding). |
Re: New Cars
Pontiac Solstice, its sporty and small. We use one, but your limited to just 2 seats and the trunk.
