Harry Sheehan at the drag race in heaven
 

We had another loss today at 5:10 when Harry went home to be with the Lord as a result of liver failure. Lots of great times and stories. Keep Mrs Sheehan, Tommy and the rest of the family in your thoughts and prayers. Will post additional details as they develop. Meanwhile, any funny Harry stories should be posted as he totally enjoyed life and racing.

So very sorry to hear this.

Harry was a Great Guy and a Very Good Racer. He was one of the first racers I met back in the mid 70's when I started racing Super Stock.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Tommy, Elaine and all the Sheehan family and friends. Harry was a great guy. Funny as well. I remember one year at Hagerstown for dinner, some good jokes and stories were told to us by/about Harry. R.I.P. Harry. You, Carl, Beaver, Walt, my father, and many more are probably telling good stories in Heaven.

I known harry through tom for the last 10-20 years. I have had some good conversations with harry. has reminded me of my father hat I lost about 10 years ago. Harry was a god man and had some good laughs.

As far as Harry stories, the first year I was announcer for our Tri-State S/SS Association (1997), Harry and a few others were on the starting line near the tower at the track near Steubenville OH. While they did something on the track, I talked about Harry and said "Some of you older fans may remember Harry racing in/around Pittsburgh". They were laughing, and Harry looks up at me and shakes his fist at me lol. I certainly did not mean he was old. Just referencing back to when Harry raced about twenty or so years earlier.

From the entire Ross Family, we extend our most sincere condolences. Harry was always fun to talk with and we enjoyed seeing him at various events throughout many racing seasons. Having experienced similar loss recently, our Family can definitely relate to what you are going through. The Sheehan family is in our thoughts and prayers!

Harry and I both set records at Suffolk one year . We went thru teardown at the same time and it was certainly entertaining. Great man and had a fun way about him,, RIP

I will never know a person who LOVED OR WILL LOVE NHRA Super Stock racing more than Harry Sheehan. He was in his element at an NHRA race. The competition, the mechanics, the people and atmosphere, he just thrived. Every moment I spent with Harry, I will cherish forever. My condolences to the Whole Sheehan Family.

Harry, the constant prankster got me good at Columbus one year. I had one of those pair of baggy jeans when I was a kid and of course they were around my ankles after Harry saw me hanging on the fence watching. It was only in front of the large grandstand right as Top Fuel was running. I always wore a belt after that!

Famously, some years later in 2004 at Columbus, Harry was so frustrated with a series of gremlins and transmission problems that he was ready to throw in the towel. The words... I QUIT were uttered a couple of times that weekend. However, that weekend, Tommy was on fire and won the race. We all know there with many successes after that.

I will cherish all of the talks we had, the CB radio conversations on the road, the knowledge you gave me, and all of the racing and life lessons I have gained by watching you.

Rest in Peace Harry.
