Live from Springnationals in Houston (Baytown)

I haven't done a live from in about 3 years as we haven't raced in 3 years. Couple weeks ago in Baytown we blew out the cobwebs.....We will be there Thursday as my son and I both have to work thru Wednesday. I will do my best to report what is going on and post pictures as I can. Friday morning will be real busy for Super Stock as we have 3 qualifying runs followed by class eliminations. We are looking forward to class and see how "Ole Trusty" runs against some bad fast stick cars. Weather looks great Thursday,Friday, and Sunday. Saturday afternoon looks to be rain so we will see how that goes. No way you can have it the springnationals without some I rain.....I have some other things I'll post here in a bit. I don't have photobucket anymore but I'm using post image. I'll see how it works on here. I'm sure Jimmy will chime in here also and anyone else feel free to post whatever you want. Later, Ed

Once you click on photo click again and it's clear. Not sure why it's like that. I have no idea what this redemption big tire shootout stuff is. Maybe someone can fill me in?

Not having photo bucket is a good thing. They hold your pictures hostage and charge you to share them.
From a fan.... Thank you for the coverage! Rock On!!! 😎

I use the photobucket app on my phone when posting pictures, starting doing it that way last summer and as of yet have not had any of the issues that I was having with their website.
Ed thanks in advance for taking the time to do the live report, I look forward to following along this weekend. As a matter of fact its a nice change for me!!!!

There are plugins for both Firefox and Chrome which will make these ransomed images display again, without paying.

Good Luck this weekend, Ed! I hope everything goes well for "Team Carpenter"! :)

The Redemption "Big Tire" Circuit are some of the folks from the Street Outlaws program, and they do put on a good show!

Well I'm about to be on the road. Worked 14 hr shift yesterday. 3 hr ride to Houston pick up my son at work, get the trailer, then over to my sons shop to get the car, and finally get to Baytown. Weather looks to be great today but it's only sportsman parking and registration today. Stock first out in the morning. Weather will be fast tomorrow with rain still forecast for Saturday....will update when I'm actually at the track......

Not trying to hijack the thread but just my observations:
The Big Tire Small Tire classes were run at Vegas. They ran 4 wide on Friday only.
I was not impressed. Very few of either class made it down the track each time and they ran 1/8 mile only.
We were pitted close by the cars and they did not draw many spectators in the pits.
They were pitted next Pro Stock and I would have expected more spectators.
Just not what I was expecting.
Just My 2 Cents

I'm sorry for the lousy reporting. We are parked in the dust in the back 40. Nhra and Royal Purple Raceway should be ashamed of themselves. I'll leave it at that. I have TMobile and service is terrible for me. I post when I can tomorrow. Pics may have to wait until I get to hotel. I couldn't even download pictures to my host site today. We are parked by my good friend Ashton Hudson. Some of you are aware that I have a bad back. I had 4 surgeries and I have an outpatient procedure waiting for me Monday when I get back. I already am feeling the pain today so tomorrow will be a bi$&h. We don't have a golf cart so I went and asked how much to rent one for the weekend. 675.00 the world revolves around greed now. So anyway I will be walking everywhere. Tomorrow Stock is first out. SS gets 3 then into class. Weather is suppose to be great tomorrow. More later......

What was the famous quote from a few years back about the Houston pits, AKA The Serve-Pro Nationals? Was it "This is just one big bucket of ........."?

Don you might want to avoid Rockingham as well unless you plan to be one of the first 50 or so in the gate!
