D1TV Information Update
 

I am disappointed to report that D1TV is not going to be "live" today and not likely to be "live" for the weekend. One of the challenges for live streaming is a good internet connection with at least a 1.5 Mb upload speed. Unfortunately, Virginia Motorsports Park does not have that available, and all other tests we have run (hot spots, Cradlepoint, etc.) fall short as well. So, the bottom line is that we can't do it "live".

Now, the good news is that we will be recording the event beginning with the first pass this morning all the way through the final rounds on Sunday, and then posting the video after the race is complete. As soon as I have more information on when that is likely to happen I will pass that along.

We'll keep working on it and if we come up with a solution I will let you know. Again, sorry that we can't deliver as desired.

Your efforts are really appreciated, Warren! "Bandwidth" issues seem to be a not too uncommon problem because there's only so much for everyone to "share". I know you've had your challenges at Beech Bend Park as well!

Unfortunately the internet finally gave up the ghost. Not enough bandwidth to stream at the lowest bit rate. We are trying but not likely to improve. Sorry about this. The good news is the race is being recorded and those videos will be posted this week.

Thank you Warren and your team for continuing to provide some of the best sportsman coverage ...bar none. I fully understand that some of the tracks we go to on the divisional trail were not built at places where technology was a consideration. In fact some still have to bring the internet in with 5 gal buckets. We all appreciate your efforts. Please keep it up.

Thanks. It will get better. We were really in training mode as the D1 staff was learning how it all worked - and run the race at the same time. Once everyone gets more comfortable you will start to see additional cameras, etc. Three years ago, every time I went to a track for the first time we all learned what was available and what needed to be added, fixed, upgraded and so forth. All of those growing pains are behind us in D3, but D1 has to go through it. If everyone is patient, we will get there.

Everything was recorded this weekend and will be posted as soon as they can.

I enjoyed it. I had it on all weekend in the shop. Great to listen to when I'm busy, and sit down to watch when I want. My internet can be lousy at times, so I'm not sure if it was on your end or mine when it slowed down at times. Appreciate the effort.

It's all up to the D1 staff and crew. I helped them get it launched, and they will be producing the stream moving forward. I think they have plans for a very full schedule.
