Factory Reman MSD products

Re: Factory Reman MSD products
Ghost,
take a look at Daytona Sensors. I plan to experiment with them for my next buildup. |
Re: Factory Reman MSD products
I'll check them out. I'm basically ready to assemble my engine, only thing left to figure out is ignition. Locked distributor, timing curve, spark retard ??? almost too much info on the web...........

Re: Factory Reman MSD products
I looked at the daytona sensor CD-1 ignition. I like it and it comes with a matching coil. It seems more capable and not too much more money, $50 or so. The thing that bothers me about the msd is the reviews, half the people love them, the other half call them junk. That the internet for ya I guess....

Re: Factory Reman MSD products
A note about Daytona Sensor products. The company was formed by former Crane employees from the days when Crane was in the ignition business.

Re: Factory Reman MSD products
I'm not familiar with older crane ignition, were there issues ?

Re: Factory Reman MSD products
The bad reviews I saw were on the ignition boxes. I'll be buying an MSD distributor and the Daytona sensors CD-1

Re: Factory Reman MSD products
Not surprised at the reviews for the boxes, the new digital boxes are made (where else?) in China, distributors are still made here.

Re: Factory Reman MSD products
I have had a couple where the pickup wires from dist. where switched.....
would run put not well. I made a adapter plug to switch them to test. |
Re: Factory Reman MSD products
I've had a brand new, from Jegs, MSD crank trigger extension cable wired backwards. Called MSD and sent photo. They said, "never seen that before" and told me to swap the wires. I wonder if that is the first response they are taught in tech school........

Re: Factory Reman MSD products
You must be very careful when buying MSD stuff nowadays! There are quite a few Chinese knock offs being sold as the real thing on the interwebs! They are junk! Buy direct or from a reputable dealer. Posting for a friend who found out the hard way. Jim
