"Live From" NHRA New England Nationals
 

Hello everyone, I just pulled in the gate. The temp is 96, man its hot. The hot weather is supposed to be gone tomorrow, as the storms will bring the cooler air. Lets hope they wont last all day. Saturday and Sunday look very nice.

I'm not racing this weekend, Anthony Bongiovanni needed me to bring a second rig up for the Micro Strategies team. His daughter Michelle is driving this weekend so I am here to lend a hand. I will have time for photos and reports. I was not coming to this race, but I'm glad to be here and cover the race.

Here is a few shots I grabbed coming through the gate. Most cars are put away.

Good morning all, it just started to rain. Start time was supposed 9:15 starting with Super Street followed by Stock. The radar does not look good right now but lets hope it clears up later.

11:00 update..... still raining. This should be the last cell moving through. I think it will be over by noon.

11:45 update.... The rain has stopped, the radar looks good for the rest of the day. Tracking drying should start soon. Hopefully we will be running in a few hours.

Track drying is under way. I found a few cars out, but everyone else is waiting to make sure its stopped for good. No word yet on what the revise schedule will be. The last photo is a shot of the pit area at the end of the track. Its solid, but sandy, not sure I would like to pit there. I have not been to this track since 1988, parking is tight at best if you want a good spot.

EPPING, N.H. The rain has stopped, but due to the rain this morning the Safety Safari is working to rebuild the dragstrip. Apparently water got under the rubber on the top end of the race track, so the Safety Safari is scrapping the rubber up. It will then have to rebuild the drag strip rubber. There is no estimated time when racing will start.

1:45 update....Half the track had to be scrapped because of the rain getting under the rubber. They just finished up. Now the have to drag the track to put rubber back. They way things look we may not get a round in today. No word when we run.

1:55 update.... They are looking at a 2:30 start time. Super Street, Stock, Super Comp, Super Stock, Super Gas, and than the Pro's.

Thanks guys, sometimes I get tired of looking at me type....lol. Super Street, Stock, Super Comp, Super Stock, Super Gas are done for the day. We were told, 1 and done, tomorrow is first round of eliminations.

I have photos, but I don't have my Motorhome here, so it will be later tonight when I get back to the hotel. I will post a few now, so stay tuned. The track was in great shape, Scott Gove went a 7.93 I believe. DRC will have SS posted soon, Stock is up now on DRC.

Last few.... Tomorrow, round one 9:15 starting with Super Street followed by Stock. It was warm and humid when the sportsman got their qualifying and time shots. Temps will drop to the mid 50's tonight as a cold front is working its way through Epping. Tomorrow morning's dial in's will be tough for sure.

Good morning everyone, its a pleasant 63 degrees with bright sunshine. No rain insight and temps will be in the upper 70's today. Once again start time is 9:15 with Super Street out first followed by Stock. We get two round of eliminations this morning and the third round will be in between pros qualifying.

This place is packed with race cars and rigs, its a tight fit for sure. Fan wise, its a great market, the stands were packed yesterday and from talking to the locals it will be the same today.

We were in the 1st of Stock when Phil Lankford spun in the lights.... he is okay, car has light damage. We just got back to racing.

Stock just finished up with round 2, it was an ugly round for about 5 pair. John Gray along with many others spun bad. It was five pairs in a row before they stopped and worked on the starting line.

They just called Super Street back for round 3. The rest of the sportsman will follow to finish their day. I'm heading out tonight. I will post more photos tomorrow when I get home.

Good morning everyone, it looks like another great day of racing weather wise. Steve's run was before the prep. 4th round starts with Super Street after the first round of pros today.
