More awesome results sheets!

I cant read the 63 Indy results, really looking for A/S thru H/SA etc, too fuzzy to read when I enlarge it.

The 64 Indy results come out good, I can read all the ET-MPH just fine.
Thanks for posting - hard to find this stuff.

Thanks to Tom's sheet and a few other sources here is what I get so far for 1964 Nationals.

I color coded the engines. There sure are a lot of "red" ones.

Feel free to correct if I guessed wrong somewhere!!

Thanks again Tom those old sheets are so helpful.
I'm still working on the 1962 and 1963 Indy Nationals you posted over on Facebook.
It takes a while trying to guess what model/body and engine goes with each car - "57 chevy" doesn't often give enough clues!

Along that line here is what I have for the 1961 Nationals. As you can all see I'm listing the model/body and engine too. Some are guesses where the cell is shaded pink.

I color-coded the engines so you can see how many Chevy, Mopar, Ford, Pontiac, Olds, Buick at a glance.
Again, corrections / comments of course welcome, I'm just trying to capture history!

Well here is my interpretation of the 1963 Indy Nationals Tom posted a couple days ago (it takes me a while to keep up!)

Once again if cells are pink or have a (?) that means I guessed at something so corrections / memories welcome.

In S/S, Barker was DQ, probably because he was running a MaxWedge Stage-3 cam that wasn't legal yet. That cam only Gonkulates to a .05 to .10 sec difference, so maybe Barker would have still won or maybe runner-up Ed Martin would have won, giving Ford's LWG its only national win IIRC. But we don't know the r/u ET or MPH so who really knows.

And here is my interpretation of the 1962 Indy Nationals.
I posted this on HAMB and got some good help figuring out that Roberta's El Camino DOES fit class - as a POWERGLIDE. In the lower classes, manual and auto cars were still mixed together!

1962 was quite a year - NHRA allowed women to drive for the first time (really???), and Carol Cox won the 1st female S/SA at Pomona (and then again here at Indy) and Roberta Leighton won the 1st Junior Stock female driver here at Indy. Funny all the times I've gone to the dragstrip with the wife, I cant imagine anybody saying "NO, she cant drive it!".

Ford's new small-block in the new Fairlane was their only class winner!

Also saw Mary Ann Foss on one of those lists, with a '58 Pontiac.

The driver of the Ed Martin 63 Gal was Don Turner,- source Dennis Kolodiej.

Ed drove his 62 Gal in A/SA. 👍

Well, there are a lot of results in this thread, but not many pics. Most like to see pics of the old cars on these lists.

I can help with a few of the Pontiac pics. Not familiar with all the names. But here are pics of 9 of the cars associated with the names in some of these early '60's lists.

I'll start with the oldest cars 1st. Don Roberts is listed with a '56 Pontiac. I have a pic of a '56 which shows Dan Roberts to be the driver. Figure it's the same car.

Ramon Lowe ran several classes with the Lowe & Easley '58 Pontiac. It was a nat record holder.

Ronnie Broadhead did real good with his '60 model Pontiac.

Bill Sasse ran strong in S/S, with his '61 Pontiac.

Carol Cox won S/SA at both the Winter Nats & at '62 Indy, in a '61 Pontiac.

Ralph Hardt won A/SA, in a '61 Pontiac.

Of course, Don Gay had one of the strong running '62 Pontiacs, winning A/S one year.

Bill Abraham won A/SA in a '62 GP.

Jim Wangers won B/FX in a '63 Pontiac.
