Live from Rockingham LODRS and Natty Open
Well this weekend marks the end of the Lucas Oil season here in D2. I'm sure we will also see a good amount of D1 cars this weekend as everyone is trying to get those last few points to improve their division standings and even win a championship. Weather looks good for Friday qualifying but Saturday has a really good chance for some rain and looks like will create some trouble for the schedule. Sunday is supposed to be the 1/8 mile National Open race and Friday night is slated for the Moser Shootout race. So there there is a full schedule of racing to try to get in this weekend and should be good car counts so we'll have to see if the D2 crew can get it all in.
Today is parking and registration and also T&T that will run from 1 to 6. Should be fun as always and alot of people's last chance to sit and bench race for the year. The gate staff will be on hand selling tech cards until 1 am so you got plenty of time to get here! |

Just a little update, the place is packed and rigs have been steadily rolling in all night. It's quite chilly, low 50's with a DA of around 300 and a good barometer so it's going to be fast tomorrow. Be careful guys and gals!

Weather numbers right now might could make that possible Mr Larry! DA at the moment is -265 with a barometer of 29.87 AA is -54

Well something new this morning, we were in the staging lanes and got sent back to the pits with the sun shining bright. Super Street ran first then they had started running Stock and no one could get down the track. High or low horsepower it didn't seem to matter, I saw nobody get any traction. Stay tuned.....

Good morning folks, weather appears to be approaching but we may get a round in before it gets here. The weather numbers are much different than yesterday morning with the barometer taking a tumble. Hopefully the skies will part and we will get this thing in today.

Sorry about the early exit Cooter but in this case there’s always tomorrow. Sorry a impromptu scurry to the Vegas race(s) didn’t work out (at least I’m guessing that’s the case). Thanks for all the pics and reporting, maybe you can hitch a ride to Vegas with Rampy, sure Ken would add to your Reporting bonu$.

We were about half way through 2cd round of Stock when the sprinkles started so we are on hold.
Jim it's no problem at all and who knows I might make a trip to Nobile next week but with the way the last 3 races have gone I might better just call it a year. |

We are currently going into 4th round of Stock I need to try to catch up on my ladders but the trailer has been backed up with racers registering for tomorrow's race.
For all the racers out there thinking class racing is dying I want you to meet Morgan and Madison Wilson. Madison is 15 and currently getting her start into racing running in the Jr series. Morgan races her F/SA Nova here in D2 and at 19 years old is vying for a top ten finish for the season. SS were in the lanes for round 4 when a Top Sportsman car crashed. The driver was ok but the track might be done for the night but not sure. That sent everyone that was in the back to the pits.

After the T/S clean up, the dew set in and that was it for today.
They’ll start with Juniors first thing in the morning, than Super Stock after that. |

Another big weather swing over night as the temperature got down in the low 40 range, the humidity is gone and the wind is gusty. We start with round 3 of SS here shortly.

We were almost done with SS when we had a heads up between Santangelo and Sullivan. On the launch Sullivan's car went hard right and took out the tree so we are down again. It appeared to me something had to have broke on his car.
