Southern tour

Well it's that time of the year again, the snow is coming and were heading south. The plan is a couple stops to visit relatives and be in Florida by the 20th. Going to do a little testing at Orlando then do all the divisional races and hopefully Gator nats. See you at the races.

Robbie, we’re off exit 90 of I-95 just south of Savannah and have an open 50 AMP outlet on the large pad outside garage. PM if you need to sit roots.

Robbie & Teresa, I was in the Sunshine State just after Christmas for a wedding the weather was Perfect! Got airplane cooties on the way down but still loved it, have a great time. BTW, snowing here, oh well I didn't put it here so I'm not shoveling it!

Well we made the short trip from NC to Conway SC nice easy 2 hour ride. Going to spend some time visiting family and friends and plan on being at Orlando Drag way late Saturday and racing Sunday. I sure am glad I left before the snow I here we got around 8 inchs at home.

Re: Southern tour

Woo-Hoo we made it into the Gators. I've been wanting to race at the nats since we've been going down there. Stop on in and say hello, we'll be in the back 40.

Well we made it too our winter spot safe and sound some how (LIFE on the road). Left SC at 8AM and made it hear at 5PM. Time for and adult beverage. 72 Degrees! That's what I've been looking for. Going to skip SundaysTnT and try and run some where this week.

Re: Southern tour

Thought perhaps you’d stop at Valdosta yesterday for testing. A bit out of your I-95 route I suppose, cold and windy everywhere today but hopefully you’ll get some runs in before the Divisional test and tune at Orlando. I tested at Valdosta and track prep was pretty good and of course all that paved pit area is nice. They will be running there next week, just FYI. Have no idea when the new Gainesville track will open for testing. Congrats for getting into the Gators, hopefully you won’t have to pit too far out, going to be a heck of a show. See you at Orlando.

Re: Southern tour

Yea SGMP would of been a bit out of the way to go for a TnT . I think both Orlando and Bradenton have something on either Wednesdays or Fridays. Does anyone know how to get in on a private test session at either track? I don't want to rent the track (to much $$$) but wouldn't mind getting in on one. Jim I'm sure I'll be in the back 40 but that's ok. I'll still be in.

Re: Southern tour

Robbie
Sometimes if orlando has a private test they mention it on facebook or the web site and let other people in . Last time I did it was 100.00

Robbie Welch 01-21-2019 07:22 AM

Re: Southern tour

Thanks Marty I'll keep an eye out for that. I did check with Bradenton and they'll let you run with the Pros testing but its $250 a car. That's a bit to much for me.

Re: Southern tour

Check Orlando, there were some rigs pulling in as we left yesterday.

Well it's not drag racing but it did evolve cars and was way cool. My buddy Wade Mahaffey and I went to Daytona for ARCA qualifying. We got up close to the ARCA and Cup car and I met a NASCAR legend, what a day Thanks Wade. We where there cheering on a local to us (Fredericksburg VA ) ARCA racer Willie Mullins and he did good qualifying #4. Congrats Willie and good luck in the race today.
