65-70 Mustang stocker

Anything out there ? I've owned my 65 fastback since 1979, would like an nhra legal stock car any 65-70 fastback considered. I've owned a 70 boss 302 and a 69 boss 429 over the years, and currently race a 68 camaro. Would even consider a real Shelby.

Alex Denysenkos '65(?) SS Mustang may still be available. But there is an obvious difference maintaining a Stocker vs a Super Stocker.

Tim,

I know Don Keen has his c/s ex World champ car for sale now.
Not sure if that fits your bill but a good car that's won many rounds.

I believe Kip's car is for sale in SC. It was owned by a chassis shop that is directly across the street from Carolina dragway?.I think it was NRC chassis? I would try there. When it was for sale they had a great deal on buying everything.

Robert...that may still be true...looked @ car during IHRA National event @ Jackson SC...several years ago...BUT it wasn't Kip's car (maybe it was ?) as I re-call...OLD AGE has me stuck on name...believe Richard Clark's...west coast car w/fresh paint...did have a complete spare motor-trans-wheels/tires yada-yada...a bit "old" stuff... by todays' standards...transmission/clutch pkg...wasn't a chassis shop per 'se...but a shop where work on various race cars was done...nice guy...Bob owned it originally from NY...had health issues...his phone #803-471-3409...may still be good...asking price was around 25-6k for all back then...how negotiable that was/is...have no idea...:):):)

Re: 65-70 Mustang stocker

Thank you everyone, I mailed the chassis shop, but no reply yet. I mailed Don Keen and Dave Moreno, and both answered, so I've asked more questions. Maybe a little more than planned spend, and really would like a real CJ rather than a clone, but its a great pedigree so worthy of a few questions. Maybe I'll try that phone no. too. But what is the car ?
As for the 2010 car, sounds great, but its too new for me, in an ideal world I'd hoped to find a 65 or 66, but would consider a 67-70. Nothing newer though. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks. Tim

Re: 65-70 Mustang stocker

You could not do better than Don Keen's Mustang.....
It is a proven winner.
By the time we cut and tear up these cars........
Original #'s do not make much difference.
The history of Don's car does!

Re: 65-70 Mustang stocker

You can't believe how much better off you would be by buying a proven race car with a history of winning lots of rounds. To start from scratch, build or get a
motor, trans, converter, and go through all kinds of chassis set ups just to arrive at a decent baseline of consistency is a lot of work, time, and probably more money than buying the right thing the first time. Having been there and done that is what nearly everybody on this forum has done and would agree with.
