We hope you and others get in. You have one cool car that you keep making better.

Hopefully NHRA will open it back up to 180 spots since SG and SC are only a 3rd full.

I guess Paul and I won't be racing either..

Last year we got in with one grade point but I guess those days are over and attending 4 or 5 Divisional/National Opens in order to race a National event is out of the question for us.

You pretty much have to have at least 5 grade points if you want to have any chance to get in to the national events now days. The low quota numbers that we are strangled with
have created this. I had 6 grade points last year and could not get in to the gators this year. I am working to get 7 GP's this year. Takes a lot of time and expense to travel and attend that many points races. In D2 our races are Friday and Saturday schedules so now I almost have to take Thursday and Friday off work. Thursday to travel and Friday for qualifying. I would rather the Saturday and Sunday schedule. Then deal with the rain issue if it arises.

I don’t agree that buying tech cards to get grade points is very fair but it seems that some that haven’t raced their car are in
while others that actually race are out.
Let me add that it was done by the rules so be it

Hopefully gold card and div champs will wait to enter. Give some of us a chance to get in

They usually do wait to enter.

Unfortunately it appears a couple have already entered in Stock and 3 in SS.

The story of Dan Fletcher forgetting to enter a race one time makes me very sympathetic towards the champions that register "early".

I'm confused, is there a problem with this?
To race U.S. Nats you have earn it in my opinion,I have no sympathy for racers with one or two grade points not getting in, if you had problems to earn the grade points it's just though luck, we all have that one time or another.
I am more surprised that it dosen't take 6 to 7 to get in!
maybe next year you 2 graders will get in with no problem :)

Not long ago it did take 5 grading points to get in and even then you had to be at your computer when the clock struck noon(For Me at least) and before that you had to mail in your entry and wait for the letter back. Lately though since the economy took a dip not as many racers can take the 10 days off needed to go to Indy, and Honestly Indy isn't what it used to be.

It's not the two grading point, which for many of use represents a couple thousand dollars in fuel, entry, food, lost wages etc. It's that NHRA reduced the number of Entries to allow TD and TS. Last year it was the Mountain motor Pro Stocks.Face it the first ones to get pissed on Is Stock, Super Stock, SC and SG. which I would argue are NHRA's most Loyal racers. But we don't have Superchargers or Nitro and we don't make big noises.

Well, sure. However, if NHRA was to be consistent in the way they administered quotas they would have left stock superstock alone and reduced the number in SC and SG for this year. They could have made room for the new classes easily and not impacted the class cars.

I would not be surprised at all if they adjusted it after a week at 1 for the super cars.

I seem to remember a time that the racers had to at least stage their car and break the beams once to have their entry count. When did that go away ?

Please do not sit at your computer and tell people what they should do. You have no idea what other people are doing in their lives...responsibilities, obligations or their finances...But it does seem easier to sit at a computer and give your opinion.. Gary Parker... my real name. So I really do not care what you think we should do

You have to enter a points meet, fill out the tech card and have the car pass tech to get a grade point. Don't have to participate, just pass tech.

Always been that was as far as I know. Once you pass tech, you get the grading point

I’ve seen someone rent a PT cruiser and tech it in to get a grade point

Those days have pretty much passed because there isn't much on the rental lots anymore that are in the guide in a FWD version. There are plenty of cars on rental lots now that are in the guide, but they are all generally RWD and it would require a driveshaft loop to pass tech.

I had to borrow a beater from the nephew of a lady I work with. I even won a round in it.
