"Live From" US Nationals Indy 2019

6 Attachment(s)
Hey everyone, we are here at the big go. Number 152, there looks to be about 175 rigs here already. A chance of showers Monday and Tuesday, but the rest of the week looks great. No word I when we park, so I assume it will be Tuesday.

I was waiting on Patsy to start the live from, but they are testing today and if all goes well they will be here. With the way the weather looks, it will be one of the quickest Indy's I have been to in a long time. With all the issue and the concerns we have, it is still great to be here. For me there is something magical about being at the US Nationals.

If I get and new info I will update asap.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, Scott it was a pleasure to meet you and thanks for your support. Vic, I was only a teenager in 75, I did not get the NHRA bug until the early 80's.

Anyone on line there know if NHRA is pitting us today or not due to the rain? We're about 20 miles away trying to wait out the weather a little bit

Yes, stop by when you can. We will be parked near the concession stands

Good morning all, it has been raining all morning and has let up just a little. We will probably get a little more rain before it stops later today. No word on if or when they will parked today. The schedule calls for tomorrow as in the past view years. It has been a steady rain, so who knows how the pits are as of now.

As I type the rain has returned....ugh

So if you're already a yearly subscriber it comes with? Not really spelled out.

There is still light rain around, but it looks to be over soon. No parking today, I will try to get in the track to see how the pits look. We have had light rain on and off most of the day. Tomorrow looks like rain in the morning then clearing in the afternoon. Wednesday Thursday look good.

Well it looks like the rain has finally stopped. I took a ride inside and it does not look to bad. The last rig I saw come in was number 332, they are now stacking in the pro side staging lanes as some of the stacking area is a little soft.

Water build up is in the normal spots, but I think if the rain stays away we should be okay to park tomorrow.

Rained hard until about 7:30. Pretty wet in the grass. The skies don't look promising.

Re: "Live From" US Nationals Indy 2019

Good morning all, the rain has stopped and the forecast is for clearing although it is still cloudy. 10 am we are supposed to start moving but no sign of NHRA officials. I did talk to one of the local track workers and he said the pits are in okay shape, with just the usual spots that are soft.

Once I get settle I will get some photos of race cars, but it looks like it will be a long day. I wish NHRA would go back to parking on monday, I can't see how all the rigs that are here get parked today unless the parking crew works all night.

What, you dont think it's a good idea to try to park over 600 sportsman cars in one day? I mean no one has to actually work on their car, ser up their camp, or God forbid get tires. I mean all you need to do is physically get in the place by midnight, they dont start time runs a till 8am...

I for one would be willing to donate $500 towards paying for the extra day. With hotel bills and paying for three parking crew, it can't be more than a $1000 for an extra day. Hell I will pay $1000, just so we don't have to deal with this every year.

Well I said my piece, back to racing. They starting moving at 10 sharp, and I did do have to say the parking crew is polite and accommodating, at least we have that.

The first photo is the first rig going in, I wonder what day he got here. No one has got stuck so far, hoping that its a good sign.
