We're Baaaack!! "Live from Earlville 2019"
We are back, but not with the bang we had hoped for! For you that were not aware, Larry has been building a new car! His name is Dumbo and he is a 2015 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak. The build has been very, very slow with lots of setbacks along the way. He has documented it along the way here on Class Racer under Racer Builds. Here is a link

We got here about 12:30 but in typical Earlville style,they were not collecting money yet but had people ready to park you. Then when the money collectors got here at 2, you just went back to the gate to pay. Tech opened at 3 and it seems to be going smoothly! It is in the 70’s with a breeze blowing in the aroma of the cow fields that are somewhere close! But it is sunny and the weather is beautiful. It is great to finally see some racers again!

After almost a year of neglect the battery's are demanding time, money, and attention. First things first, golf cart, if it doesn't run no pictures and members won't be happy. We found a new battery at Walmart and will install by the light of day. Trailer battery's are weak. I had to have the charger on to get car pulled in. Other than a few bumps in the road this trip it sure is good to see everyone. I spent most of Indy week getting the cobwebs off of the CUDA and almost forgot to replace the belts. I'm sure glad Patsy mentioned it. Weather forecast for Earlville Iowa.........FUN.

Rain is forecast for Sunday, so looks like they are going to try to get in 3 rounds tomorrow.
It has really been a nice day here today. Warm and breezy. Car ran good for having set up for almost a year! Got to see lots of friends we had not seen in a while and then ended the day with a Dwayne Scheitlin marquerita and birthday cake!! We start out early at 8 in the morning with super street. So more tomorrow!! |

Well we made it thru the first round of Stock this afternoon! So we are 1 for 1 for 2019!! They were about halfway thru round 1 of super stock when some sprinkles started. I put up our chairs, but it is still sprinkling a little. Up until now it has been cloudy with occasional sunshine, but a very pleasant day. Here are a few more pics from today and yesterday. They have pulled the plug for the evening! Starting back at 8 in the morning with round 2 of super street and then stock round 2!

It rained a little overnight but I hear the track dryer running this morning. 8 am will not be the start time since nobody has been called up yet! There is 40% chance until 3 or so this afternoon. With no sunshine it may take a while to dry if no more rain comes. It is only 57 degrees now with a high of 63, so it may be a long day. Also there are no lights here so running at night is not a possibility. I can see this finishing at Great Bend, KS in two weeks from now. But we may get lucky and get it all in! Oh my phone just came on with a rain alert! It is supposed to begin again in about 20 minutes. Well maybe I will get the rest of the pictures posted after breakfast!!
