"Live From" The Dutch Classic

Hello everyone,

I got here a little late today. I did here they had a test and tune, and a few cars got down the track before the rains came and they had to call it. The rains are all gone and it should be nice for the rest of the weekend. The weather in the morning should be cool enough to set records, I will let you know who or if anyone goes for a record.

Most everyone had there stuff put away, but I did find the PC Richard group out and about, and a few other cars.

Hi kids - As Ken said they did get in some test n tune - a couple hours at best and I picked up a few numbers along the way .Boburka ran a nice 9.12 early along with Ficcachi ran a 9.91 but not sure what class. Then there was our resident dime-master Mr.Billy who ran some 13-o's in his LeMans .

On another note we have Mike Delehanty visiting us from D3 and if you look at the pit picture you'll see something we rarely see much and haven't in 20 years .And by the way Mike convinced me and others it really wasn't very fast here today by saying he went exactly what he did last weekend at Columbus at the Sportsnationals.

If you're on the fence about coming get off and saddle-up as its to be very nice the next few days ……….see ya in the lanes .

Hey all, we are well into time shots today. There is no qualifying at National Opens. Super Stock is running now with Super Gas to follow. Weather wise it nice but not record run weather, Temp is in the mid 70's and sunny. Its a little slower than the national was here a few weeks ago

The photos below gives a different look. I hope to get the same effect on top end shots later today.

So both Stock and S/S got their first run in this morning and it was a bit faster early when Stock ran .Watched Jim Boburka run 9.05 (-1.25) @almost 147 .Also a tip of the cap goes to Stephen Symth in his stick shift Drag-Pak in FS/E going 9.69 on a 10.95 index. Also the Billy Nees T/SA Nova set the first leg of the National Record .

The long distance award should go to Phil and Kim Cocuzza from Division 7. They drove all the way from Phoenix, Arizona to Pennsylvania.

We got done early and finished off with the Top Stock eliminations. There were 9 cars entered in Top Stock. I don't have all the numbers, I hope to get a sheet and post tomorrow. Steve Ficacci was number 1 qualifier. Dave Ficacci beat Bobby Gyorke in the final, It was a close one with a margin of .002. I did not realize they were running the finals today, so I only got a few shots and the final.

Thanks again Doug, great work.

Good morning all, its another beautiful day for racing. It should go up to the low 80's today. Its cool right now with temps in the low 60's. We have Class today. Some may not know it, but the Dutch always has Class for Stock and Super Stock.

Here are some random shots from yesterdays action.

National Opens qualify off the first round winners, that being said if memory serves me right they did have sheets last year, after the time runs. Its good to see what people are running, so you can compare. I’m not there this year as I didn’t get my pistons till yesterday from where I hurt it at the keystones. I will make it to VMP next weekend, the leave for Zmax and stick around for the D2 race the following weekend in Rockingham (Rockingham has two races the divisional and also a national open). Good luck to everyone at the Dutch and also the D2 race at Galot.

I recall them always posting a "qualifying" sheet to create a ladder.

Good morning everyone, we had some heavy rains roll through last night. They are drying the track now, eliminations are supposed to start at 9am with Stock, but that could be delayed a little.

This is my last report as I hurt my car. I broke a cam gear and will try to get it fixed before the next race. My plan was to leave here and head to Virginia for a D1 points race and then on to Charlotte. It may not happen if I can not get my car fixed. You will be in good hands as Patsy and James will be at Charlotte.

A few more shots from yesterday...

How can Gary Richard be in B/SA with a 2010 mustang 428?? You would think after 3 rounds of qualifying they would have fixed it.

The factory stock classes do not differentiate between sticks and automatics, they run together in the same class designation. If Stephen Smyth's Challenger had an automatic, it would still be in FS/E.

Hi Bill,

Correct - but there are different HP factors (and different weight breaks) for sticks and automatics. The '09 Challenger couldn't fit into FS/E with the automatic factor.

Same way a 352 Cobra Jet is FS/E with an automatic (at 370hp) but FS/J with a stick (at 285hp). :)
