Just a little info to pass on for Nat Open sponsored by Midwest Class Racers with our great marketing partner Tonniges Chevrolet (Oseola Ne). In talking to the track manager he passed along the Sat show would be run as the Sunday show . Tech opens 8am Qualifying at 10am Eliminations at 1pm (not 3 like the flyer says). The weather is looking FAST - 2 races 1 tow - grade point for Sunday race - low entrée $100 per day - Another Fantastic payout by MCR!

Win $2000 RU $1000 Semi $750 - $500 - $250 - $100

Midwest Class Racers
Watertown Ford Chrysler
Tonniges Chevrolet
Midwest Factory Finnishes

Kearney is a fast track with the correction factor,as long as you don't have a strong headwind.Good luck to all!...gsa612

There is a race Saturday and Sunday.

The time on the schedule for 1st round Saturday is incorrect. First round both days is 1 o'clock. :)

Is the Midwest class racer race ran at the same time as the NHRA race on Sunday?

So the Saturday race is the one you need to run in Stock/ Super Stock to get your grade point? No Grade point on Sunday for S/SS?

Being from Colorado and have had spent a small fortune over the years in Kearney and racing there a lot I can tell you this: The town of Kearney will probably be the nicest 30,000 people town you are likely to ever see. The .19 correction factor more often than not is very well deserved, you have a 2130 altitude, with a constant blowing of the wind, some times this will help, some times this will hurt, you will see both this weekend. It likes to rain there a lot, last year 300 miles into the trip, it was called due to rain. The baro can range between 27.40 and a very rare 28.20, the wind usually goes hand in hand with a low baro. I have gone to this race every year for as long as I can remember, one time I can remember very good conditions. My decision to go Sunday will be made Saturday when I have a look at the baro and the wind direction. Good luck

I believe the Grade Point is for the Sunday race since it is the actual National Open race. Al or Dan, correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Kearney National Open Oct 5th & 6th

Sorry my earlier post confused a few people. There is 2 S/SS races this weekend.

Sat Race is a MCR race sponsored by Tonniges Chevrolet

Sun Race is a NHRA Nat Open race sponsored by Tonniges Chevrolet with MCR sponsoring the payout.

Again 2 races 1 tow - Fantastic payout - grade point ( sunday race only) - low entrée of $100 per day

What about setting a record? Normally the Sunday race you get 1 hit and then eliminations if I remember correctly?

Sean I believe you can set record on Sat but please talk it over with NHRA staff
when you tech in Friday or Sat I am sure they can steer you the right direction.

If you set a record on sat, it used to be if you went quicker on you run sun it counted. Not sure if it that way now. You can not use a Elimination run for a record, say you go faster in the combo race. Good luck to all and have fun. Tom

The conditions at any track are the same for everyone. The best thing a racer can do is to have their car on a track with other similar classed cars and see how they compare.

There will be several G/SA cars there, so your Buick will feel right at home. Monty Jones' stuff is always fast so you'll have a good car to compare to.

Hope to see you there! :) -Al

So its 365 to race this weekend ?

Corky, You don`t have to run SS/Stock race on saturday, you get same # of time trail`s & They let us back up Nat. Record on Sunday, if you didn`t race on sunday & did tear down, not for sure they still do this on record runs. Corky $100.00 or 200.00 You have to pay for Sunday.

My car is setup for F/SA, but I can't argue with that, see you Sunday

Is that Common Core math, Corky?
How did you turn $100 per day for 2 days into $365? Maybe you've been hanging out with Dirtbag already...

So there's no track entry fee for the NHRA open on Sunday?.If there is that would make it $365 total for 2 days..gsa612

I admit the poster is a bit confusing, but it's $100 for the Saturday combo and $100 for the Sunday combo (National Open).

Re: Kearney National Open Oct 5th & 6th

It is confusing,it says $100 "paid at the gate" for NHRA eliminators. And "paid at the tower" $100 or $200 for both days for the S/SS combo. It's no big deal either way, good payout plus the grade point...gsa612

Re: Kearney National Open Oct 5th & 6th

gsa612 $100 dollar`s paid @ gate is for nhra open sunday race, The $100 dollar`s you pay the tower is for Sat. race that you can race or not race, you only have to pay for sunday`s race.to get in,

I paid $200 at the gate an hour ago to race Sat & Sun

Me too and it is a little different in that one tech card will cover both races.

Re: Kearney National Open Oct 5th & 6th

I haven`t race in a couple years, The people @ the gate think you have to pay for both races when go in, had to tell them i was only paying for sunday. i was going to try to set record on sat., tear down in afternoon. failed tear down twice, 3 thousand on intake 2 years in a row, wayne lewis checking lifter got me, After the first time he went to Ron Taylor & checked it ok. but checked with stock solid lifter. Raced my wagon a few times the next year, I had two cars, went to Kearney the next year & failed again 3 thousand. i didn`t know wayne didn`t bring his adj. lifter to Ron`s the first time.
