Stolen Race car

Just read on Facebook that Lindy Lindholm had his trailer stolen with his 74 I/SA Firebird
in it. Stolen out of Anaheim CA. Hope they find Lindy's car and get it back to him and the people who are responsible brought to justice.

Attention racers, this week alone there have been TWO race car trailers and Lindy s race car and trailer stolen....Be proactive, a trailer GPS is a good tool to prevent disaster.....

Re: Stolen Race car

Well that absolutely rots... I just raced Lindy and his Firebird @ Sonoma earlier this Summer. Hope it gets back to him!!!

Would be real interested in hearing recommendations and experiences from those racers employing trailer GPS solutions...

I've been looking to get a trailer gps, along with a gps tracker for a classic street car, anyone have any recommendations? There are so many out there with such a range in prices I don't even know which ones are good.

I've been using an Optimus tracker for years. A very simple device that will run off its battery for a weekend at the track or can be hard-wired. Cheapest subscription I've found at $19.95/month.

Oh man.....having had this happen to me I know exactly how this feels. It’s like losing a member of the family - and you run the entire spectrum of emotions from anger, grief, disbelief, more anger, more grief etc. In my case I found out who did it, but was unable to recover the car mostly due to apathy on the part of the police departments who were in a position to help.

It’s been almost 5 years now since my Camaro was stolen....and I’m still not over it. I’ll say some prayers that Lindy has a better outcome than I did. This sucks!!!!

Re: Stolen Race car

I bought one of these after Casey Mikes showed me how it worked on his car. Pretty easy to use. Buy the unit and then a SIM card. I bought a SIM card that has a year of service for 60 bucks. The app is free.

TKSTAR Hidden Vehicles GPS Tracker, Waterproof Real Time Vehicle GPS Tracker Anti Theft Alarm Car Tracking Device Strong Magnet For Motorcycle Trucks Support Android and IOS TK905 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6H70C9..._TLwSDb166K8FW

You can have it send alerts if someone so much as wiggles that unit or put up a geofence to alert if it moves out if an area. Real time tracking works well on the free app.

It has a pretty strong magnet on the case and the battery lasts for over a month at a time. For about 100 bucks you can have some piece of mind.

You can move it anywhere at anytime. I stuck it on my golf cart at Indy just to find out where my buddies were when they borrowed my cart.

On top of that I recently signed up for Hagarty insurance through Superstocker Don Kennedy. If you get tired of worrying about some mal content stealing your car, that insurance is inexpensive piece of mind.

I've always wondered how well these trackers work inside or under the trailer.

A sad state of affairs, but this is the "new" America. Genuinely hate to imply this, but it is well established that, the more "diverse" we become, the worse the theft and violent crime problem becomes. Amazes me that liberals actually think that people with no education, job skills or source of income will come here and NOT turn to crime to support themselves and their family. Intelligent people understand that laws do not stop crime; wanting to be a contributing part of a society does.

Amazes me that the N azis on this site can't resist taking shots at people they disagree with. The current sitting president has done more damage to our country's well being and security in three years than any "diversity" could possibly do. A sad state of affairs indeed.

You literally just took a shot at someone you disagree with in the sentence condemning people for taking shots at people they disaree with.

Hate to further derail a worthy thread but pretty sure the only ones who can legitimately complain about diversity in America are indigenous people.

Having my share of German blood does not mean I can or will close my eyes to the hate that came out of that regime. Although not to the same degree, the current administration is attempting to do something very similar., that is, to blame the "other" people just like the no name guy above. In short you have no moral high ground on this issue.

pS

Classic liberal attack doctrine employed here. Right out of Rules for Radicals. I "took shots" at nobody, and never actually stated that I disagreed with anyone. I simply expressed a personal opinion, based on numerous, documented, actual events which occur daily in the "new America". You, on the other hand, immediately default to a knee-jerk condemnation of Trump as the cause of all of America's problems, and then try to present a completely unfounded opinion as fact (i.e. "The current sitting president has done more damage to our country's well being and security in three years than any "diversity" could possibly do."). "Sad state of affairs indeed"... oh, how dramatic.

Sorta true, but the problem is that nobody ever wants to talk about the 400-pound gorilla in the room. We just keep pretending that the gaping split between conservative and liberal factions in America doesn't really exist, while it gets worse, literally day-to-day. But out of respect for your sensible, peacemaking post, I'll shut up.

Having been disagreed with before, nothing amazes me. Having a German last name but being born in So Cal 65 years ago means there must have been a krautburner in the woodpile somewhere, but nothing else. If liberal socialism is so good, how come it has never worked? Look what it did to Germany in the middle of the 20th century? Is it because the right people just haven't tried it? The original inventors of that great lie couldn't make it work. Having loads of new people to "enhance diversity" only means having a big population base to exploit for political means. Do you know who else during that time frame experimented with eugenics? The state of california. Look that one up and see what that was all about. The problem isn't with any particular people group. Thieves and liars exist all through the human stratum. An older co worker once told me that if we locked up all the thieves, there wouldn't be enough people left to feed them all. Incidentally, the was over 40 years ago that I heard that. Just watch your stuff. lock everything up, don't let anyone know what you do or show them what you have. Too bad we all have to live this way, but there is no political solution. You wouldn't want it, anyway. Lindy, I hope you get your stuff back. You have a nice racing operation.

I'm as tempted as anyone to comment politically.
But here's a copy and paste from the FAQ's on this site:
"Political and religious discussions are not permitted anywhere on the Class Racer forum."
At least we're keeping the thread near the top to help get the word out about the lying, thieving bastard(s). :-)

Re: Stolen Race car

In all this discussion about everything else, we forgot the main thing. What was the license number of the trailer, what make trailer, what size, what all was in it, how would another racer know it if they saw it, when did it disappear, let's get some info out to the Classracer family and the racing world at large so that they might know what they need to be looking for. This is the most important thing.

Apparently the trailer tag # is 1WC8853 and it is white with driver side escape door and a round dent in the bottom stainless trim. That’s all the info I could find on FB, perhaps others know more.

Where I now live, which where I grew up 71 yrs. ago, you got to be reeel carefull. Make things hard for those that would do you harm, lock up everything, chain with lock through a trailer wheel and frame, car on stands in the garage, fuel pump relay for the truck you tow with, in your pocket. Lots of little stuff, don't let people know or see what you have, and have insurance. There's other things, but you get the idea. There is nothing like hearing someone you don't know say "so your the guy with the racecar" John Kissel K242

Keep your 12 gage and/or AR-15 or AR-10 LOADED at all times with a round in the chamber IF you live in one of the American states and not a Commie State ! I do plus I have ADT alarm system and cameras located around the house and garage. I can shoot in any direction because I have ZERO neighbors.

Re: Stolen Race car

I'm really sorry for your troubles but... there's no excuse anymore for not having a GPS tracker system in your trailers, trucks, race cars, boat,rv,s etc.etc. I wrote a post a while back and now they've even cheaper to buy and setup with an app on your phone.I always had locks on my wheels of the trailer a ignition cut of switch hidden in the truck(remote under the truck). It's unfortunate but it's life. Be aware of your surrounding, look around, is someone been following you, leave the vehicle in a well lighted area. SEMA had vehicles stolen again this year(usually at motels)The Quintin Bros even posted a photo of the Las Vegas thief(a good one for once) he drove right in the pursuit vehicle rendering it undriveable because of the airbags and got away. So be prepared and don't trust any hotel/motel for security(90 can't protect your from harm in their establishments imagine your cars). My two cents. Hope they get them and your property soon.
