This is the main reason lead prices spike this time of the year, besides not knowing how to lift on a bye or red light.

Looks like most racers are behaving... seems as though a 3rd gen Camaro with a Efi 350 will be receiving an early XMAS present. Isn’t SANTA magical ???

Sad when racers have to (BEHAVE) in a performance based sport....

There's one at Rockingham that made 3 hits in a borrowed car but I'm having a hard time figuring out what combination it is.

Lee does anyone know exactly what combo this actually was?

Not really 83 body EFI engine ?

Lee Valentine 10-27-2019 06:18 PM

Re: End of year Horse Power

Should be disallowed what ever it is,tech didn't do a very good job. In division 1 they have been double checking tech cards for correct information

MR DERBY CITY 10-27-2019 06:23 PM

Re: End of year Horse Power

It’s listed as an 83, then an 87 , if it is indeed a 350 it has to be. Efi .... Do you know the car James ?

HR9121 10-27-2019 06:27 PM

Re: End of year Horse Power

I wasn't there but I have been told it's Billy Plage's old car so if that's the case it an 87 I believe.

That I couldn't be sure of MJ, Billy flipped combos several times last time I saw it it was a 350 efi car.

Lee Valentine 10-27-2019 06:34 PM

Re: End of year Horse Power

Listed as 350, 150/244 something wrong no such combination. What did he weigh and how did they figure the class?

J.R. Haddad 10-27-2019 06:36 PM

Re: End of year Horse Power

Well, we know it's not a '83-350. It is listed as an '83, then a 1987. If it is
a 1987, then it's a 350-225-285 TPI combo. If that's what it is, it does not
fit into "I". It is a "F-G-H" combo. When they figure out what it is, it will
be interesting. J.R.

Re: End of year Horse Power

83 Camaro has a nice little small cam, dish piston 305 carb combo...Rated at 150 from factory and 244 hp from NHRA...only a few guys run this combo....

HR9121 10-27-2019 06:54 PM

Re: End of year Horse Power

I know the guy that owns the car and sent him a message to see if he would clarify the combo for me but haven't heard back from him yet.

Where did NHRA get this info from?

Re: End of year Horse Power

Usually from your tech card, was entered as 83 Camaro

Mr Vallentine my question is where NHRA got the info for the list. I don,t have a 83 Camaro got a 78 Malibu Wagon and a 95 Camaro and soon a 67 chevy II.

Thanks Kenney Kelley

Re: End of year Horse Power

The cars classification comes from the racers tech card and the run average comes from runs at divisional and national event runs.

I don,t see them listed the two cars ran at Orlando and at the Baby Gators The 95 Camaro was driven by 2021 and the Malibu was driven by 202K.

Re: End of year Horse Power

Are you talking about Willie Mylins car? It can not be a fuel injected combo because it did not have ground effects on it. If its a carb motor then its a 305 and it doesn't fit into I, FGH car. It has to have ground effects to be a TPI car

HR9121 10-27-2019 08:53 PM

Re: End of year Horse Power

What information I've got on the car is that it's actually a 305 190/237 combo. I don't know anything else at this time like what was actually turned in on the tech card or weight but hopefully someone can shed some light on this that was actually involved.

Jamie there's alot of cars that don't have the correct ground effects or hoods running.....

You triggered the combo at Atco. Then you triggered the combo again at Epping therefore the combination will get looked at. The average for your combo in F is quicker than 85 under therefore you’ll get your HP when the end of year hp comes out in December, unless it gets lowered at Vegas, Vegas or Pomona.

If those numbers are good, that makes it an 87 model 305 TPI car and an HIJ car. I correct my statement, ground effects were standard from 88 up. 87 was the last year of a "base" camaro. Car is correct as an 87 model. But if we could run our cars as light as 3014lbs in I that would be awesome lol

One trigger was in G the other was in F doesn’t count as two triggers figured you would of known that.

The way things are going it looks like I could go somewhere and claim the 350 dish piston combo and blow it up and slip out the back door without being noticed. Ofcourse I've got this big wing on the back of my car that might draw some attention.

"The combination must make at least two runs of 1.00 or quicker before a review is triggered to prevent a "one time fast run" from triggering the system."

^^This is how you triggered it. No where does it state that the 2 triggers has to be in the same class, just that the COMBINATION has to make two runs quicker than 1.00.

Through DT-1 Let me guess, DT is short for Dallas Texas
STOCK

End of year is after last race. I think reviews are engine family, platform based.
