Stocker Hot Stove?

Bored already with this early winter. What are everyone's winter updates?
I'm in freshen up mode on engine & trans. Maybe new wheels. Some other ideas.

Just ripped out the low riser out of this. Building a (budget) high riser over the winter to run in c/s.:D

What class are you going to run? H or I? H/SA is a tough one. If Butcher is there you have to be able to run at least 10.80 to be able to run with him! I/SA isn't a cake walk either.

When you make some runs, you can write in for a horsepower reduction request. And it may help your combo. But you have to make runs with that combo first.

Are you building it yourself or using a known FE stocker builder?

Building it myself. I have great people to help me along the way, all local to me as well.

Add in new shocks, springs, control arm bushings and steering box. All new front end work.
A little bit of everything.

Many people on here, including Billy Nees, like the early iron. Pre 65, full size, big blocks have all but disappeared from NHRA, S/SS. With NHRA`s horsepower help and the availability of driveline parts that will live, we could see cars like yours return.
search http://georgeklass.net/index.html for a treasure trove of early pics.
Good luck with your project.

Biggest winter project has already been tested before the snow flew. New cam in the Skyhawk ran in October, the last day Bandimere was open. New races next year? Possible return to the Spring Fling Million with the little V-6 and the Vegas LODRS event the week before.

The ever growing list...

- Upgrade to clean neutral
- Maybe trans low gear change
- Add a racepak
- Get going on engine #2
- Work on the stocker that's been dormant for far too long...

Billy you need to make it. You never know. Indy 2021 they could only let 64 stockers in. BP

Re: Stocker Hot Stove?

Also you never know when it's the last race at a track. I finally raced the Summernationals in 2017 and my best friend finally won it in Comp. Then BLAM Raceway Park closed 2 days after the D1 banquet. Total shocker. Point is do it all while you can.

It’s my understanding that you need to make runs that are under the index to be considered for HP off.

Correct. At least .101 under the index to be considered for a review.

Ok so what's wrong with 77 350 4 barrel combo since everything else is the same except intake and carb as 2 barrel.

Just finished my season a couple weeks ago with the CCRA event, the transmission needs a freshen but the new motor only has a few runs on it but needs to go back for some tinkering. Happy off season to everyone but we're only a few weeks away from the season opener at Orlando!
