No More Automatic Horsepower Factoring

Starting with the 2021 racing season NHRA will change the way stock class cars are classified. They will be classified by weight, cubic inches, and type of carburetion. Engine must be stock appearing but any internal modifications are allowed.(pretty much like they are now). Horsepower rating is not considered. Any questions or comments call 911-555-NHRA.

You missed one other change which will be how the handicap will be at the track! 2021 will be 1 car length per tenth of the difference. In other word for .25 difference = 21/2 car lengths!

Yes, there will be lots of changes now that AHRA has merged with NHRA.

With the suspension of the LODRS and a June 1st return to racing being very optimistic, I thought it was pretty cool that all automatic HP - 1.20 runs made this year have been rescinded.

They also proposed allowing crate motors, but that was the only thing that people actually complained about. :)

I heard that they were going to start a "claimer" program. If you get beat in a heads-up run or in Class Eliminations, you have the option to buy the winners engine for $1,000.

Knowing Mr. Shaw as well as I do suspect this is one of his favorite days of the year. I also suspect he's already working on his draft for next year.

"Bless his little heart"

Thanks Bob I needed something to smile about.

Jim
