Many subjects have been covered lately since this COVID-19 crap has started but no one has talked about unemployment insurance - are all you guys (and gals) too proud to talk about it ? Well lets start - in Pennsylvania many,many businesses have been forced to close - it's legal to sell beer and wine but you can't sell a car .Yesterday the lawn guys were at my house to 'weed and feed' my lawn but my car lot is closed .Go figure.It's ok to get an oil change but my dentist is closed .

In my almost six decades of employment here I've paid unemployment taxes in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey and in all that time I've collected once - and it lasted ONE DAY.Yesterday I told that to someone who replied that the money should go to people who need it - and I told that person to leave. .Now as a senior the state has forced me to close and sign up .And lay off employees .This would be better if I could go race but even that has been taken away. After almost two weeks of sitting in my office bored I can't stand it - I want to open the window and shout out that famous movie line - "I'm mad as Hell ........you know the rest.

All that plus I'm tired of sitting down to dinner every night and listening to our Presidents 'Gloom and Doom' on TV. When will it end ?????

Yes- My company is a corporation - I am President and an employee who pays unemployment taxes to the state and according to my accountant I did the right thing by filing for compensation benefits .That said I have not received any money yet .

same boat here Jack-signed up last night. While we are technically "open" for repairs, NO ONE is driving their cars, so NO ONE needs to repair their cars and NO ONE is spending money at the moment-3 oil changes last week.
As an aside, tell me you went to the sba website and signed up for the "forgiveable" 10k loan! If you didn't, do it now! it is aimed at guys like us.....

Unfortunately, with the Sheeples doing the best to show that they are willing to comply with the wishes of politicians, and follow a Socialist/Communist format, this will NEVER end.. they will come up with a new wave of Covid-19, or even another virus to put the Country in a deep freeze, and another Great Depression..

I'm hoping that most already know that kids will not be returning to school until maybe September, MAYBE.. all that have stopped going to work probably will not have jobs to return to.. many companies in NJ that were considering downsizing, are now downsized, without taking heat from former employees..

WHAT MAKES ME MAD is all these folks now believe that by isolating, they have protected themselves.. but when they walk into a supermarket, they have no idea who walked in or out before them.. or if those people just left a germ cloud from a cough or sneeze.. they believe that the germs adhere to their masks, and gloves, but it covers everything they are wearing.. to be safe, they need to immediately disrobe, thoroughly shower, and maybe even set their cars on fire.. they have been provided with a false sense of security by those speaking for our government..

There are meds that have been proven WORLD WIDE to be effective, but we can't have them.. WHY IS THAT??.. they are now estimating 100K to 250K will die.. when we hit those numbers, is that when it stops, or is that when the second virus kicks in??

Take a look at the time period between the Spanish Virus of 1918 and the Great Depression of 1929.. anything seems familiar to this nonsense??.. everything was on an upswing after the virus, we changed Presidents, and BOOM, the Great Depression..

If you haven't noticed, I'm not buying into the hype.. I'll agree that China has engaged the World in biological warfare, and the virus does exist, but not to the extent that is being reported.. one guy got thrown off of a Big Media program for saying that the majority of those dying, would have died from their underlying conditions by year's end.. could that be true??..

If and when we reach the other side, will everyone realize that they forfeited several freedoms to comply with a political game plan??.. will people realize everything that was taken from them??.. no schools, no churches, no family time, no sports, no bars, no restaurants, no groups big or small, no talking, no touching, etc, etc, etc.. AND NO RACING!!!.. all because they were placed in fear??.. and that they will allow it to happen again and again, at the whims of politicians??.. no one has to listen, but just take a look around...

I'll just continue to do my thing, cause I believe I already had this crap in January.. and now there are claims if you had it, you're immune.. You might be disappointed on your uc claim. I too am an officer in my corporation and was denied on the grounds that I was the decision maker for the corporation. Ruled ineligible after an appeal. Please let me know if you receive a different out come from the Commonwealth of Pa.

as I understand it, even if your STATE CONTROLLED unemployment machine denies, which is expected, it opens the door for the FEDERAL payment of 650/week to be applied to you as a small business owner affected by coronovirus. The Federal payment is to be administered by applying for the state benefit.

think about the benefits you do get already, do you expense your racecars, your fuel, your motorhome and trailer? aiutomotive business owners that race usually deduct, expense as advertising, enjoy the benefits you have and have a little consideration for others, like the 3 racers from division 3 that just died or the 1 month old that just passed. imagine how those parents feel.

I'm not sure I understand your post - I do feel for folks who have been affected by the virus but me ( or anyone for that matter ) getting unemployment compensation has nothing to do with them - please explain to us .

i guess i was making 2 points to counter your 2 points, 1 being shut down and 2 not collecting unemployment. 1 your business is shut down to hopefully keep you, your employees and customers safe from this virus that has killed 3 racers and is highly contageous. 2 you were complaing that you cannot collect unemployment as a business owner, my point was you get many tax benefits as a business owner to fund your racing operation which far outweighs what you will get in unemployment. so let it go. by the way you can now apply for a loan as a business owner that up to 50pct will not have to be paid back if you can show 25pct was used for payroll and 25pct is used for rent/expenses.

Alright let's see where we are -



CARES Act allocated approximately 350 BILLION DOLLARS to provide relief to the millions of "small businesses" in this country. The idea being is that if you keep those businesses open and their employees paid the impact on the overall economy wouldn't be as bad. In theory, a great idea! Then "somebody" decided to let the Small Business Administration (SBA) supervise the relief plan. You know, the under-funded, under-staffed SBA is going to manage a multi-BILLION relief program(Has anyone tried to deal with the SBA before? Do you enjoy beating your head against the wall?). Bottom-line is that the Secretary of the Treasury now has a large number of financial institutions doling out the money, and if you don't have a previous relationship with "the bank" you'll be waiting for a while, not to mention the "fees" that will be paid to the banks for their largess. And let's not forget that businesses were told to apply for their "relief" payments as soon as possible, because once that 350 BILLION is spent that's it! "First Come - First Served"!.


Is it too early to say "Follow the Money"?

There are other Zoonic pathogens that no vaccines are available.
They are discovered on a regular basis because organizations study this.

Instead of a leader who fires competent people to run those organizations..
Or world wide ignorance cutting down rain forests which tended to pat down the transition from animal to human disease.
Potential issues with the melting ice caps may introduce a whole new group of pathogens that were long buried..

This event was long an coming.and it will not be the last!

Most of you have small businesses with 10 or less people..
$380 billion is not enough for the number of companies that fall in that demographic.
What we depend on will fortunately will go back to our government as tax receipts..as it filters back through the economy.

Unfortunately Small businesses will be subject to lots of questions and financial date in order to receive help.
If/then/or else

Not going to happen with Munichkin who can freely give out $1trilion to corporate friends.

Then there is the fear of relapse as we become complacent and wave two hits us...!

The smart people in these agencies know about these computational algorithms..!

Since you seem to be so focused on the things the United States has done wrong related to SARS-COV-2. Please inform us of the "leader(s)" that have mounted the correct response (in your highly qualified opinion) to this current, SPECIFIC outbreak.

If you chose to reply, and wish to not name specific "leader(s)".....Because.....You Know.....You're not being Political.....On This Forum. Just give us the names of Countries....Or States....That provide examples (in your studied and skilled opinion) of a correct and timely response to SARS-COV-2. Again......You Need To Be Specific!

They have all taken both sides, and espoused opposing viewpoints, on theories related towards SARS-COV-2.

Good news - Even though its very little money ( because I lowered my pay when I signed up for Social Security ) last week I was approved for Unenployment .And I didn't need to appeal.

Bad news is we are closed for at least a month yet and now have plenty of time to race etc and they are closed also.On top of that the casinos are closed too .

You might note that I quoted Dan's statement in my response. That's typically done to provide the SPECIFIC point being responded to. Dan mistakenly chastised me (lots of exclamation points:eek:) about my input on a "CV19" vaccine. Yet he failed to comprehend that I had never proclaimed the existence of a vaccine. I was, and am, responding to that singular statement.

The common flu returns every year in the fall and lasts until the spring. If COVID-19 follows that pattern, it will return later this year. That's not paranoia; it's being realistic and prepared.
