I am afraid that the entire racing year and a lot of our economy
are in real jeopardy!

I certainly hope that I am totally wrong = I do not own a Chrystal Ball.

I do have a MBA and undergrad degrees in Economics and Accounting.

I am certainly not holed up in my home. I have been working every day. I get out and around as I need to. Construction is still going on as normal here in Florida so far. D2 has half of our season in the books already so we haven’t missed anything here yet. The Atlanta points race could be in jeopardy for mid May but we will just have to sit back and wait and see what develops. I have to disagree with you on the intelligence of our leadership running this country right now. This seems to be a gross over reaction in my opinion. Over the recent years we have elected some bad people to our government that don’t seem to have the country’s best interests in their heart . It’s time for some changes in that department.

I hate to admit it John, but I think you are right.I have heard it said that an economic collapse will be much worse than a pandemic. This coild be true. Only time will answer these questions. Lets hope for the best.

When the NBA calls a game at half time time when they find out a player tested positive. Suspends the season, NHL, PGA, NASCAR, NHRA to name a few cancel / suspend. Who knows how much money this will cost these orginizations? All before much before very much government involvement it really got my attention..

I think that will depend if you are among the dead or not. If you die, the pandemic will be worse than the economy. If you live, the economic collapse will be worse.

i believe things will come back to new normal. not as good as things were, but no where near as bad as 2008. this is not a business/ mortgage downturn, it is a medical downturn. i remember 9/11, our phones did not ring for 6 weeks after, that following winter was bad for us, we made it thru and then had 6 good years after.

The Govenor of Illinois said everyone should consider cancelling summer events. Not etched in stone, it may mean no racing here for a while.

I dont agree, we need to start getting back to normalcy, over 647k people die each year of heart related diseases, should we have everyone stay home and get an angiogram?

This is sad, people dying is sad, but the economy needs to start rolling again, schools could be back by June, leaves 4/6 weeks of cleaning and by then the virus should start to diminish.

Its going to be hard for some to get back into groups but it needs to start and the media needs to start helping w positive thoughts and stop the fear.

Besides what virus could live at a race track with race gas and nitro fumes.

Curious do you think sportsman will be out of national events?

God bless and happy easter!

Then you should find a better article. This is an opinion piece, in which the author states, the subject matter remains fluid. No empirical evidence here.

Heart disease isn't contagious, as you well know, this virus is extremely contagious. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

I'm sure you could find a better Dr but I doubt very much if a better Dr would disagree with him!

"Dr. Fauci was appointed Director of NIAID in 1984. He oversees an extensive research portfolio of basic and applied research to prevent, diagnose, and treat established infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, respiratory infections, diarrheal diseases, tuberculosis and malaria as well as emerging diseases such as Ebola and Zika. NIAID also supports research on transplantation and immune-related illnesses, including autoimmune disorders, asthma and allergies. The NIAID budget for fiscal year 2020 is an estimated $5.9 billion.
Dr. Fauci has advised six Presidents on HIV/AIDS and many other domestic and global health issues. He was one of the principal architects of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), a program that has saved millions of lives throughout the developing world."

You are missing the point..
We have flu shots to prevent people from getting the Flu.
Plus most flu’s are manageable but CV19 is not.
There is no Vaccine for CV19.
There will not be an effective vaccine for the public for a year.
The current measures are already stressing the Hospitals.
Plus still have to take in those with serious Flu cases..

Most of this could have been prevented!
We would not be having this conversation.
The warning and Intel was presented early November.
It was ignored !

Like riding with a nail in the tire and refusing to fix it..

Re: All We Want Is A Chance

This is all bull**** spun by the msm and the left.

Is it a bad virus? Yup. Can people die? Yup IF they have a weak immune system.

Don't remember all this freaking out over the swine flue which killed what, 17,000 Americans?

Don't remember shutting the world down when SARs came out.

Don't remember...oh wait...orange man bad, must ruin economy so he won't get re-electedÂ…

How come other countries (Spain for example) aren't freaking out like this?? How come they are taking precautions and operating as safely as possible?? Why aren't they up against the rev limiter on this??
They don't have the hateful msm and the left pushing scare tactics.

The government won't forget how easy it was to get everybody in compliance. A scared population is SO easy to manipulate.

Do some research on UN agenda 21 and 2030. This is only the beginning. Their "new way of normal" will keep getting replaced by "newer" ways of normal which are more and more restrictive.

Going from one state to the other? "your papers please"
