Mark Nowicki accident @ vegas
Earlier today Mark had an accident in the staging lanes. After winning the first round early in the session he came to the lanes to watch. I am not sure of how it happened exactly but as he was watching from the lanes he got ran over by another SS racer and had a compound practure of his leg. He was taken to the hospital immediately. I havent heard any news but would like to hear if he is ok. Ken Etter

Re: Mark Nowicki accident @ vegas
Just got off the phone with Buckingham's and Mark is doing really well. He underwent surgery last night and I guess they put a pin in his leg. He is expected to be released from the hospital on Monday. He will not be able to put any weight on his leg for three months so according to Elaine, he will start out using a walker. Lisa said everyone in Vegas has been so great pitching in and helping out. I can only imagine how grateful Elaine is for everyone's help. Marks brother will be flying out to drive the rig back for them this week. Please keep Mark in your thoughts for a speedy recovery.

Re: Mark Nowicki accident @ vegas
Hi;
I'm Brandie (Nowicki) Meisner. My parents are Mark & Elaine. I'm Ryan & Kevin's Mom... if you know my parents, you'll understand! First, my Dad is okay. Thank you, Amy, for updating everyone. Our family would like to thank you ALL for your thoughts, prayers, calls and concern. Your friendship and support have meant the world to my parents over the years, and especially now. As Amy mentioned, we are hoping that my Dad will be released from the hospital tomorrow. However, we are still trying to coordinate the logistics to get the motorhome & trailer back to Florida - we're not sure how that will happen yet. Once again, we are so grateful for the outpouring of care. Please keep my Dad in your prayers in the days, weeks & months ahead. You can't keep a good man (especially racer) down for long... I'm sure he'll be back at it soon! God Bless, Brandie Meisner Gaylord, MI |
Re: Mark Nowicki accident @ vegas
Brandie,
Thank you for your post. We have all been extremely concerned and were unable to reach your mom on her cell phone. I guess Alice Tysinger did get to speak with her yesterday. Thanks to Larry and Lisa Buckingham for the phone calls and the updates. One thing you can count on in this sport is racers helping racers and they will be taken care of out there by friends as long as needed. Please tell your mom and dad hello and they have and will be in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks, Amy |

Tell Mark and Elaine we are thinking of them.

Brandie,
Thank you for the update! Please tell your dad we are all concerned about his health. I am sure he will be back up and racing soon. Where in Florida are you taking the rig? Jim |
Re: Mark Nowicki accident @ vegas
Could someone please post a mailing address for Mark so that concerned friends and racers could send cards?

Re: Mark Nowicki accident @ vegas
We have some news from Mark and Elaine by way of Bev Provoast and Ginny Running. Mark's brother flew to Las Vegas and is helping to drive the rig home to Florida. Elaine said Mark is doing very well, even helping to drive. They will be staying in Florida until November 11, then will go back to Michigan where Mark has an appointment with an orthopaedic doctor. They want to thank everyone for their concerns and best wishes for them.
Sounds like everything is going pretty well for them right now. Ya'll be careful, now. Patsy |

Brad, AKA CTV
I just spoke with Elaine to make sure it was okay to post the address. She said Mark is doing great and they are still on their way to Florida. They hope to be there by Saturday. Mark Nowicki 17 Old State Gaylord, MI 49735 Amy |
Re: Mark Nowicki accident @ vegas
Hi;
Just a quick update... my parents safely arrived in Florida last Friday night, with the help of my uncle who is also a truck driver for our business. They will be in Florida until next Monday, when they will finally return home to Michigan. My boys are anxious to "take care" of their Grampa. My Dad is doing well; I can tell because he's asking lots of work-related questions. He's definitely getting bored, which is a good sign that he's at least well enough to be bored. We'll know more about his prognosis once he sees his orthapedic surgeon here in Michigan - I'll pass information along as I receive it. Once again, I just can't tell you enough how grateful my family and I are for your kind words, calls, notes, and prayers. They mean the world to my Dad and my Mom. Thank you! God Bless, Brandie Meisner Gaylord, MI |
