It's wet.
Friday at 5:00 pm we will be required to wear a mask. I had to settle for the " Red Light Banded" mask, because the "Clown " mask was already taken by a politician in the state capital. Just reporting the facts as I see them.

This track is top shelf at any inspection point a person might care to look.

Well it finally stopped raining about 1 or so. Test and tune is happening now. Not many participating it doesn’t seem. We made a pretty good run with Dumbo. Going to try something else now. Air is decent. Barometer 30.22!!

The best track I've ever been to. Nicest amenities, hardest working staff, really can't say enough good things about it. Cant wait for it to be my local haunt. And screw the CDC and CNN. Employ good hygiene, dont get on top of others, and use some effin common sense. It's really not that complicated folks...

GALOT Motorsports Park - Benson, N.C. Just off Interstate 95 in central NC
Track went under new ownership about 5 yrs. ago and has been completely renovated.
GALOT - “Get A Load Of This” As you can see in the heading of this thread by Larry & Patsy.
Division 2 race going on this weekend there. Check out their website for pictures of facility.

Unless the track itself is enforcing this I wouldn't give it much thought. Shortly after the Goobernor's statement was released our County Sheriff released a statement saying his department would not be enforcing the policy as did many local sheriff's in the area. Carry on and unfortunately I will not make it this weekend since I'm in a transition period since I sold my motorhome and trailer last week. If anyone knows of a good toter and stacker for sale hit me up.

Testing. Track was good and its a nice long track for an 1/8 mile. Be sure to look for the first finish line the other one is, I think, is 1000'.

More about this gem stone of a track. A RV dump that is spotless, fresh water, and 50 or 30 amp electrical service for $25 a day. Lots of pavement and or grass and its all flat as a billiard table. Two interstates close, less than 10 miles and good roads from there to the track. Some very good local mom and pop eating places. My favorite ones are the meat and three places with fresh brewed ice tea. I think any racer would want to put this place on the "List".

Saw a round of Warren’s great coverage, thanks again to SDS (the Volkmans) and all the sponsors. Interesting to see Johnny Fisher back in the Mirada, what a crazy fast car. And of course Hillary Sloan’s wheelstand was an absolute jaw dropper.

Three qualifying runs today and finished up way before dark! Track was good until last run and then we spun badly as did lots of others!

I have some pictures that were taken last weekend at Mooresville, but most of these are here this weekend also!

Quite the contrary, most of these counties are rural and have had less than a 100 cases so common sense tells us that rules intended for populated areas don't need to be applied where we can think for ourselves and aren't a bunch of sheep.

I've been back to work since the beginning of April, do road work and a few have gotten sick and it tore their lives apart. To treat this disease like it's not a problem is just plain foolish, I keep my distance and wear a mask when I know that I'm going to be near strangers and IMO if we all did that the Country would be in a lot better shape today.

Get A Load Of This is the name of the cement company that the owner of the track operates, FYI The owner loves Tractor pulling and drag racing. Bought Dunn Benson dragway a few years ago and as many can see completely rebuilt.

Now face masks and following the rules. Orlando Speed world owner put out a statement that basically said if face masks are not worn when near other people are close, you will be asked to leave as florida is enforcing because of the huge increase in cases in FL.

Atco dragway was fined for allowing spectators. All I ask is drag racers and fans try to do their best to follow the rules, Drag racing is one of the only sports open and we are lucky to be able to participate. Lets try to keep it open.

PS, one of my favorite outdoor bars was just shut down in FL because of the spike in cases
