Numidia reportedly canceled

Numidia reportedly canceled, keep looking on the NHRA site, it should be posted soon I would think.

Re: Numidia reportedly canceled

I'm a bit confused. Numidia has been opened early than any track this year in PA and racing is a weekend event. Atco somewhat slow and now opened for racing and MG bringing up the rear. Is this a Wally Land decision or Div 1 or both? I was at Atco for a TNT and was an easy 300 people there. I'm involved in the event industry and the recent COVID 19 regulations have KILLED all my indoor business. Outdoor event rules are very relaxed and considering the total acreage of all these race sites, social distancing is not an issue.

If i were to guess the reason it's probably due to Governor Wolf two days ago prohibiting any outdoor events to 250.

That was the reason given on the NHRA D1 Facebook page. They made a post this afternoon stating it was canceled, and would not be rescheduled, but the JR Dragster event scheduled for Numida that weekend will go on as planned.

Cecil and VMP Divisionals could be in trouble also. Maryland and Va have been added to the quarrantine list. Anyone from the tri state area NY, NJ, Ct must quarrantine 14 days when returning from said states. There are a bunch more on the list, but those two affect the D1 Lucas races.

Sounds like we need a double at Cecil and a LODRS added to the New England Sportsnationals

I believe Yellow bullet. Is before the Nhra divisional
That race if it happens will be the test.
Doesn’t look good for large gatherings in most states.

Is there a fixed fine if you go along with the events as planned? Maybe the fine is $2-3k and you bring in about 300ish entries and as many spectators as you can muster up?

or we could just show up and stage a "protest" by racing our cars. And when the police and news media show up we could tell them that we were going to stage our protest on RT.80 but the track owner was kind enough to let us "borrow" his track for our "protest" so that we wouldn't be "shutting down" a major interstate.

From a pretty good (inside) source, Bob refused to enforce mask rules. On a ___ acre property out in the rolling hills of fresh air and sun!!

Great idea! Everyone else in the country is protesting something, I think we should join the party!

I find it interesting that they can run junior dragster‘s
Which shows it’s all about the money
How about NHRA try and do a split schedule run some classes on Friday some on Saturday some on Sunday
It would be like a bracket race one day in and out common sense
Think outside the box not about Junior dragster’s

Social distancing what a joke
watching Junior dragster’
the starting line looks like grudge race 100 deep Be real

Yellow Bullet is a few weeks after the Lucas Race, always falls on Labor Day weekend. I talked to Jim Saturday Night at the Harrington Race and he felt confident the race would happen as long as Maryland doesn't put more restrictions into place. I guess it's a wait and see what will happen.

I think at this rate we'll have Cecil and VMP left and VMP is still 2 1/2 months away so who knows what could happen by then. I can't see Maple Grove having the Nationals or Lucas Race if Numidia was cancelled just the way things are going. I hate to say it and I know I'll get flack for it but, think it should have just been a year to get grade points, run for cash and wally's and lets hit the re-start button in 2021. No Points, No Champions - just a year to go out and race because just say the season ends today, how do you crown a champ on 2 races in D1. The poor northern friend can't even get over the boarder to play with us. Heck the Super Gas D1 Champ from last year has a Gold Card and can't use it and I'm sure he's not going to get a re-do from NHRA in 2021.

Car counts will be affected if they dont lift the Tri State travel ban. NY, NJ, Ct racers cannot go to Md or Va without being quarantined 14days when you return. I think there are actually 30 states on the travel ban list! Lets run the whole series between Lebanon Valley and New England!, lol

Posted by the NHRA Northeast Division FB page:

On the fence about joining us for the Jegs SPORTSnationals at Epping? How about we change it up and cancel the National Open on Sunday? Then let's change the date of the Jegs SPORTSnationals to August 22-23. Since you were already planning to be there August 21, how about coming a day earlier? How about we add a race on Thursday and Friday and call it a Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event?

For those that need better description, we have added an LODRS Divisional event to make up for cancelled events in conjunction with the Jegs SPORTSnationals at Epping August 20-23.

Full details to follow...

They tried that peaceful protest thing at a circle track in N C. It worked the first week the 2nd attempt was squashed by the local authorities
