Dave "Mr Workman" Workman: RIP
I was informed today that Dave Workman, AKA "Mr Workman" passed away peacefully in Scottsdale,AZ from a bout with a very aggressive cancer. Dave was a young 83. Dave campaigned his "F" body Mustang in Stock Eliminator for many years.Several years back sold everything to spend his time with his lovely companion Terry.: Dave loved to get you into his camper to show you all of his car articles and pictures. Tuscon had a surprise birthday celebration years back for him. I kept Dave busy while the Announcer broadcast it was his BD, and for everyone to come to the tower to get cake. Dave said "Is that me." Good man, friend and racer. RIP

I didn't know Dave, but knew the name. I would always look for him in the qualifying lists from various events (it has been awhile). I have read the great stories that have been posted about him.
R.I.P. Dave. May his family and friends find comfort at this time. |

I enjoyed talking to him in the staging lanes at Firebird, and Las Vegas. He was a great story teller, and he really know how to race and enjoy it. Chuck, I know you just lost a very close friend.

Raced with Dave in the old AHRA days, Beeline, Phoenix Dragway (Speedworld) and Tucson. Had a Maverick at one time. Great character for sure.

Re: Dave "Mr Workman" Workman: RIP
I was going to add this info to my other post, but decided to make it it's own deal.
I just looked at the Q list from Bowling Green. Isn't the Mustang that Kelly Pott-Hall running Dave's old car. Even the same number 7706. If I am wrong blame it on old age, and such. |
Re: Dave "Mr Workman" Workman: RIP
The car Kelly is driving is NOT "Mr Workmans" that is a fresh Rusty Hall build. The Number "7706" belonged to Bob Pott , Her father.RIP
God Speed Mr Workman.... Raced with him many times , great guy! the world is a lesser place with out him in it. |
Re: Dave "Mr Workman" Workman: RIP
Thanks for the info, that was quick. Guess I was way wrong, sorry.

Re: Dave "Mr Workman" Workman: RIP
I bought the red Mustang from Mr Workman around 2016. He said he was having some health problems then. He did have some good racing stories to tell. Sorry to hear he is gone. I sold the Mustang to Travis Gusso, who had it originally.
