$37.00?, man they shooting low, why not $59, or $63.86....the hits they keep a'comming

Re: St. Louis LODRS

so I run super gas and super comp so that's $74.00 in service charges and you have to enter online they won't take your money at the gate. I checked.

Re: St. Louis LODRS

Yes, they can't take cash at the gate but they will take it at the concession stand.

Re: St. Louis LODRS

I just checked my receipt for the Bowling Green divisional race. They charged $8.43 fee in addition to the entry fee. So, what is the reasoning for the $37.00 fee? Who is charging this extra fee? How can we enter without going this route? I know NHRA is hurting financially right now, but c'mon man, this is outragious.

NHRA1926 09-16-2020 02:49 PM

Re: St. Louis LODRS

Well, I just went to also pay for the test day on Wednesday, and there is a $10.25 additional fee for entering that! Again, in addition to the entry fee! NHRA sure is about to loose some revenue from the sportsman ranks. We start refusing to pay these ridiculous prices, stop attending these events, and that organization will collapse REAL fast.

I'm feeling better and better about my decision to just go junior and bracket racing this season.

I do miss the style of racing. My dragster is still winterized from last year.

NHRA1926 09-16-2020 03:38 PM

Re: St. Louis LODRS

The only way to explain this is price gouging. And NHRA is forcing you to enter over the Internet, not providing any other way to enter, therefore they know they have you, so they will just charge whatever they want in service fees because its the only way to enter. Price gouging is a legal the last I knew.

It is my understanding that the "fee" for these things is based on the ticketing website the specific venue uses. Bowling Green and Columbus happened to use the same site...but Topeka used a different site. Each site has their own fees that have nothing to do with NHRA and that money doesn't go to NHRA.

That said...$37 seems really high. I cannot find the links to sign up for STL anywhere...so perhaps they noticed an issue and shut down the links to fix it. Hopefully, if that's the case, the issue was with the amount the site was charging.

The fees are charged by a third party, not NHRA, not WWTR. They’re trying to find a solution but if it doesn’t improve, just think...fuel prices are down this year...suck it up and go race and maybe things go back to normal next year.

Re: St. Louis LODRS

So what does this mean to the people that already paid their entry on 9/16/20 when the sight was up? Will they get a refund? I know at least one person that paid over $500 for one car and one crew for this divisional race at St. Louis. This is what it normally costs for a National event! And they did NOT enter the test and tune. Crazy!

Sully3358 I for one will not "suck it up" or bend over. I do hope the track does get this fixed.

Re: St. Louis LODRS

What is crazy about the whole pay on line only deal is that you can go there for the weekly bracket race, pay at the gate, get your tech card, fill it out and take it to the tech trailer and race!!! Wife just said it is posted on the Div. 3 facebook site you can pay at the gate, but there is a processing fee the same as the on line. Hopefully it is lowered.

SC321X 09-17-2020 10:07 AM

Re: St. Louis LODRS

Now they have changed their site for entering the race and lowered the FEE, and said they will sell tickets at the gate. I guess many people complained and they actually did something about it. Thanks NHRA for listening to us racers.

For me Personally I really do not mind the fee , as I am a capitalist pig as well as a Pit snob ,with the amount of money I have spend Drag racing in the whole scheme of things the fee is insignificant I will be there to let go of the Button and then go to Lunch ,by the way to enjoy the leave on the killer starting line LOL at me

Re: St. Louis LODRS

On th Division 3 site, it says you need to download Pit Pay. I did that but it is still not letting you enter yet. I just wanted to see what the fee was. It said it was a lot lower, but I couldn't get it to come up to enter yet. Maybe later today it will be ready.

It’s fixed but there’s still a fee. Just curious what your threshold is for an acceptable service fee before it starts eating into your massive profit margin from NHRA racing.

They make you scan a picture of your drivers license to sign up for Pit Pay.

If the fee has an aroma it's too much. I guess I'm just an old romantic, if I'm getting screwed I liked to be kissed. That's me I could be wrong!

Re: St. Louis LODRS

Just spoke to a very nice lady at the track. Racers will be able to pay at the gate and receive a tech card there to fill out. Hope this helps any questions or reservations about going.

NHRA1926 09-17-2020 09:41 PM

Re: St. Louis LODRS

Haha just give us a picture of your license. NO THANK YOU! You might as well give them a picture of your social security card! I'll pay at the gate thank you. It also says the service fee will still apply if you pay at the gate. OK, so answer me this, why are they still charging a service fee if we pay at the gate? If we are not using the internet service to pay for our entry, why do we have to pay the service fee? Isn't the service fee charged for using the internet processing company? Is it just me, or does this not make any sense to any one else?

''The fees are charged by a third party, not NHRA, not WWTR'' Is this still true when paying at the gate?

You still going to protest this race over a $5 per race fee or will you be in line on Sunday complaining about not being able to get in the gate until Tuesday?
