Re: lance line
Does anyone else feel like the NHRA is giving out a whole lot of fines lately? 🤑

Re: lance line
Trying to make up for lost revenue. What did he do?

Re: lance line
The fine is posted on NHRARACER

Re: lance line
Yeah, and Lance has always been such a hard case. A regular Rebel Without a Cause.

Re: lance line
Somebody needs to rethink this action.
Lance Line and a couple of other racers who won there 1st round races on Friday had their victory stolen from then. This is wrong and calmer heads need to realize this. He only followed the NHRA people’s command and then realized he won the race after arriving back at his trailer. RJ |

I cant speak for NHRA or the Motorplex, but now I always carry my phone in the car,we may not like it but it probably won't change this year. 2nd round race one, Jerry Emmons and I were tied together at the finish line. I did not see my light on the wall. We both pulled off the return road,he came back to my car and said "who won?" I pulled out my phone and said "you did" By the time I got back to the trailer they were announcing to make sure who won before you drive past the scales. I know...doesn't help Lance, but would hate to see it happen again. |
Re: lance line
They should have paper time slips. That is such BULL CRAP no paper time slips. and so much for this corona mess. how much would it cost to have a time slip booth person!!!!!!!!!!!! and so much for the germs. all this mess makes me wan't to quit. Lance Line is a better man then me.i would be in Jail i am sorry. who needs to weigh after you qualify anyway. unless it's a head's up run who cares what you weight.

Re: lance line
Something smells like alot of BS here. Lance and his entire family are one the nicest racing families I've met in my young life as I approach 45 years old. My daughters look forward to seeing them every weekend we race. NHRA has lost track of what racing is about. We pay alot of $ to support their events. It is supposed to be a fun experience. If NHRA needs more income, let's start rolling cams....

Re: lance line
My 2 cents. Division director should have done the right thing.Reinstated,Bill Bogues,Don Davidson, Lance Line. That would have been the right thing to do. As for time slips if you can hand me a fuel check cup you can hand me a time slip.
|
Re: lance line
The Motorplex should have had the win lights on the guard rail working before the event started, they had to know they weren't. With that said, they knew what confusion this was going to create.

Re: lance line
Very sad of events. Why the scales had to make the difference in the out come of the actual race is a bit crazy. Rules are rules.. Did someone tell Bobby to cross the scales? Lance travels down from division 5 to a poorly run deal and has to buy the new light bulbs and printer ink for the next race. I can only guess there was a language barrier that earned the fine.

Terrible decision by Nhra.
I’m sure Lance was on the CHIP when he found out he got screwed It BS that he had a round win given away by incompetence of the people in charge We should set up a donation to The Free Lance Line Fund. I’m in for a few $$$$ . Let’s do something for him he stood up for everyone else |

Re: lance line
Mr. GTS340. No one told me to go to scales. I don't carry a cell phone in my car. I didn't see any win lights. To Lance he went to end of track and I turn 1 exit before. Not know who won so I went to scales asked and they didn't know. They told me to get on scales. Then go to fuel check which I did. I am sure I messed Lance up because he saw me on scales. I never saw him at the scales because he was behind me. While I fuel he drove by me. I told all the tech officials I didn't know if I won. Got back to my trailer and Conner told me Lance had won. I said he drove pass me at fuel check. Conner said to go back to fuel check. They DQ Lance. D4 should have had win lites working . They did not. For Lance to be fined because he was mad at tech deal is wrong.

Re: lance line
Every car should go across the scales, this will get them to do something to fix the problem. Jam up them scales every round.
How much Time and money does it cost to go to an event? And then to lose like that. |
Re: lance line
Well......Mr Perone, what is happening with your suggestion for The Lance Line Fund?
I have my $100 in hand......what now? Anybody? Or just talk? |

I'll toss in a $100 for the Fund. NHRA needs to focus on the want versus need. I want to race their events, but I do not need to. I like our local track. My wonderful wife and I raced BIR last weekend for a S/SS race. Only 10 cars due to other events. We both won R1 before it rained out. Got a check in the mail today for $152 each. I've lost R6 at a points meet a few times and haven't done much better. As I get older, I'm going to go with the track / association that actually wants us there. We have fun from the time we get there until we go home. I think that's how it is supposed to work... |
Re: lance line
Notice the thing can be appealed. That means they will forgive it and keep the appeal money. Not right but not quite as bad. It would be easier to just forget it.
|
Re: lance line
Count me in for a $100.00 towards whatever Lance wants to apply it to....... fine or appeal......litigation? Your choice just let me know where to send it.

Re: lance line
Where do I send my money?? Tom

Re: lance line
I'll send him $100 - just say where!

NHRA often has to get volunteers to help create, sort and pass out ET slips at many regional events. With the current limitations we all have had this year it is not always possible to get enough volunteers to do all the jobs that need to be done. I cannot count the times I have been in this same situation and I ALWAYS stop at fuel check and the scales until an NHRA official tells me I lost. I don't know if Lance was acting out in an "unprofessional and disruptive behavior toward an NHRA official" or a volunteer and it doesn't really matter. If I was on the receiving end of foul and/or abusive behavior I would have expected either an apology before that person left the venue or I would have recommended the same action. We are suppose to be friends with these people who provide a safe environment for our use. Remember the golden rule? Chuck Gallagher |
