Thoughts/Opinions on Scheduled $25k S/SS Races
 

With the announcement this week of two planned S/SS races that will pay the winner $25,000 to win, what is everyone’s opinion on the race?

Will it be successful? Will it be supported better than Michael Beard’s Class Racer Nationals from several years ago at Columbus?

Will St. Louis draw 128 cars in Stock and Super Stock?

Will the Easter Weekend 2021 Date hurt car count?

What’s everyone’s opinion on the format? Laddered 128 cars in Stock and Super Stock with the winner of each vying for the $25,000.

Great idea hopefully it takes off ! If enough of these get scheduled through out the year, who in there right mind would pay 330 to enter a race to win a 1000 to 1500 anymore ? Bring it !! :)

Entry Fee is set and will be on the flyer which I’m hoping to post in next week or so but entry will be $699 for BOTH 25k main events. Not EACH.....BOTH.

If the dates are correct and stand, this race is the week after the Atlanta National Event. I would have to drive through St.Louis on my way back to Minnesota anyway, so it works for me.

Date is rough one for me. Wednesday start day is tough! Plus Easter weekend. Still interested though.

This is going to be a true class race right Tyler ? I'm assuming so. Just want clarification it's not a bracket race with class cars.

How will this differ from a big money bracket race just for class cars?
Will there be anything to keep the cars as legal class cars? Will there be tech? Heads up races? One thing that seems to attract racers to association races is the not so heavy top end payout. Getting money for a second round loss seems like an attraction for some,
I think if the format is structured as just a big money bracket race limited to class cars, it may not bring the cars that Ken's race brought.

I appreciate the effort for anyone that is trying to do something for class racers. That being said, it would not be something that I personally could do because of it being Easter weekend. I hope it goes well and draws tons of cars but I heard one track owner tell me there were 2 things you couldn't compete with when putting on a race, God and mama. Good luck with the race I sincerely hope it goes well.

I have 2 NHRA tech officials locked in, and have my eyes on one more. Tech will be held, scales will be enforced, working on fuel check as well, and tear downs are possible. Your AHFS factor as of the week of the race will be the factor used for the event. I’m making this as legit as anyone possibly could. I will release a full run down of the rules and who my tech officials are once I get the flyer posted in next couple of weeks. Oh, and of course, HEADS UP RUNS WILL BE IN EFFECT. $699 for TWO 25k to win stock/super stock races with Nhra tech officials doing everything to ensure no one is showing up without a true LEGAL Nhra stocker or super stocker. We pay 3rd round winners $250 and go up from there have 5k to runner up and 25k to win. Stock and Super stock will be laddered E1 through the final. Stock and Super Stock will be run SEPARATE until the final.

Also need to remind everyone that there hasn’t been “tech” in 2 years ANYWHERE. One of the tech guys I’ve hired said on the phone yesterday “I’ll be glad to get back to actually doing tech”. The tear downs once again, are possible as well.

I love it but the timing will be tough for me. We have a slew of Divisionals and Gainesville and Atlanta right before. Will be a tough tow from So Fla.....

Now if I can get enough time off to go straight there from Atlanta!

HA! You know you're killin me!! LOL! Kenry is looking for a stocker to buy/trade or a ride for this race already! Kyle is hot on S/C after last weekend. He really enjoyed that!

I don't see any reason for a fuel check. Scales are fine. We don't get fuel checked at any other S/SS combo races. The end of March and most of us will have fuel carried over from this year. We are planning on being there with 2 cars also.

I think you are right. Maybe not to the level we go through at NHRA race but just a way to confirm the fuel everyone is running is legal.

Great idea to bring that back. I wish it was closer to Florida. That date is right in the meat of our spring schedule down here in D2. Best of luck I think it will be a success with Tyler running the show.

Super excited for this race! Thanks for working hard to make it a legit S/SS, heads up, tech, etc. with the fun exciting atmosphere of the big buck bracket scene. I will be attending and have spoken to a half dozen guys from up here in the north country that will attend. Thank you!
