Anyone have an alum hood for an 82 Firebird?
 

If not a steel hood, it needs to be a flat one. I could work with an alum raised hood. I also need front and rear bumper covers & rear lenses. 317.260.3486 text. I can't find anyone who makes aftermarket parts for this? Unbelievable!

The aluminum hood you are looking for is like searching for gold.
Part number 10017983 or the car RPO T45.
All Firehawk's had them.

Your best bet is to search in Ebay, Craigslist or the Car-Part website for the hood and the other parts you are looking for.

I've been looking for 20 years, it would be easier to find gold, I did find one 10 years ago and offered 1500.00, had the deal set up and the guy backed out, wanted to keep it on his rusted up old street car

I always check for fun in junk yards. Even look for aluminum core supports for g body.

Classic Industries has the bumper covers, a little pricey but they are having a 25% off sale on online orders through weds at midnight.

I know it is the long way around, but Lindsey Brand is selling her former Beachy race car. I recall that it had the lightweight stuff on it

By looking in the junkyards consistently you will find all kinds of 3rd gen stuff. I take any straight hoods, doors, bumper covers, consoles, or any rare options. But I have not found an aluminum hood yet, Camaro fiberglass ones but not aluminum. Those cars are getting more scarce in the yards but they're out there. Call Hawks 3rd gen they part out a lot of them. There are some more places I have bought from too let me see if I can find some info when I get home.

have a rear bumper cover off an 84---really nice condition probably at least a 7 1/2 maybe an 8 on a 1-10 scale- nicest one I've seen in a long time-$200 plus the ride--FED 387

I know a well known racer who had a problem with an aluminum hood.

He looked for a long time trying to find another one. Then on the way home one day he saw a car in a field for sale. Low and behold it had an aluminum hood. He bought the entire car just for the hood. He also parted out the rest of the car, and scrapped what could not be sold. I believe he ended up $1500 to the good, after subtracting the cost of the car.

Win!

We bought the car a couple weeks ago and currently the hood is NOT for sale, but yes it is aluminum.
