Re: Heading south
Well as you know we're in Florida so we decided to do alittle bracket racing this weekend. I've been wanting to go back to Immokalee since IHRA dropped the proam series so here we are . Thomas is having a double points race this weekend both races Saturday with a TNT Friday. so come on down the weather is great.

Re: Heading south
Whats your racing plans for the south Robbie ?
|
Re: Heading south
We ran the 1st of the double races yesterday and even though we didn't win it was a good race making it to the 5th round. We were both 008 but my opponent was dead on and I wasn't (wrong side of a good race). I didn't run the second race I have a bunch of excuses 1, I don't like night racing. 2, It was going to get cold (for here) and I though the track may go away(it didn't). 3, I'm getting older and just didn't feel like it. I wish they would of run it today but that wasn't there schedule. I just want to say Thanks to Thomas and Ralph Hester they have to be two of the most accommodating and friendly track owner/promoters anywhere and it was good to see them again. If you've never raced at Immokalee and get the chance give them a try. Its not a fancy place but I think you'll be happy you did.

Re: Heading south
Jake sorry for not responding. Our plans are to run the early Division 2 races plus the Gator Nats and the Nats at Atlanta and bracket race when I can. I want to take advantage of the open tracks. See ya at the races.

Re: Heading south
Did you do anything to the car over the break ?
|
Re: Heading south
Nope everything's the same I had planned to make a cam shaft change but talked my self out of it until the end of is year when I'm planning to go thru it anyway. I do have two carbs with me. One I'm going to have Tony Morris go thru a gas 4500 I want to try, and a 950 Alcohol carb I've tried a few times and think may be good now (Tony didn't do the 950). I may ask him to do an Alcohol carb for testing also. I've been wanting to run my car on Alcohol to see the difference I've tried a couple times with no luck. So its off to Bradenton this afternoon for a 5K to win bracket race tomorrow.

Re: Heading south
Good luck Robbie

Re: Heading south
Well the bracket race at Bradenton didn't end as I'd hope. In the 4th round dude put a 6 pack on me and I was done at the start with a .029 light. I started out good with a .008 light putting some numbers in the box for the next round I lost the tree and never could get it back? So now its going to be a wait for the NHRA Div 2 race at Orlando (I can't wait to see old friends). I think I'm going to start a new feature in these post's. I'm going to pick a car of the race photo. I see a lot of cool car's going to different tracks and some times you see a car that just makes you stop and check it out here's the pick from Bradenton. It's a Studebaker and is way cool. I talked to the owner but as you can imagine I can't remember many details (going to have to start writing them down)
<a href="https://imgur.com/KnQj1mF"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/KnQj1mF.jpg?1" title="source: imgur.com" /></a> more photos to come. I have to transfer them off my phone. |
Re: Heading south
Dude that is sweet!

Re: Heading south
Looks like y'all are enjoying yourself. Hopefully the weather continues to warm up too. Always enjoy your post. Keep it up.

Re: Heading south
Cool Studebaker, must have built it on a Lark (couldn’t resist).
