Not looking to well out west for racing
First the Phoenix race was cancel. Now Tucson is cancelled. The state of Nevada is something like 49th on their Covid relief efforts. The track at this point in las Vegas is closed since last year. Seeing that Pomona hasn't had a great response on entries. I can only think folks know something isn't happening there either. At least the cars won't rust!

Nothing but Bad News out here.
I predicted that several month ago on this Site BUT I was hoping I would be wrong! We entered Four Stock and Superstock cars in Pomona = However, I am not holding my breath on it happening. Plus I am concern how long NHRA can survive on a diminished revenue stream and significant fixed costs if the Covid persists through the entire year! Yes: I was a College Business Professor. We hope you are feeling better Paul = If you need anything please call us! |
Re: Not looking to well out west for racing
Thank you John! I miss you and all my friends. More Doctor visits coming this week. We sure could use a life line out here. I worked so hard to build the Challenger. I feel kinda empty on that project now. Since Larry named his "Dumbo". I was thinking painting it blue and calling it "Moby Dick" or green and calling it "The Incredible Hulk". Seems the fun left the building at this point.
Take care, Paul |

Probably wise to caravan with Mike and Paula....and be prepared to stay in the Southeast a while, racing starts in four days.

Re: Not looking to well out west for racing
I think for us the Western Swing will not happen. So sad, Patsy really likes the wine tours!

that they are even close to a decision this far in advance! As usual = I hope I am wrong. However, without substantial spectator participation - The Track has no desire to host any National Race. |
Re: Not looking to well out west for racing
John and Jon there are still 4 spots still open in Superstock in Georgia. Swing by and pick me up. The blues from the Blue states are rough. Personally just battling high blood pressure. Go Figure!

Re: Not looking to well out west for racing
I have chatted with Jeff a couple times = He is a proponent of
Sportsman racing. However: 1/ It is a beautiful but expensive track to operate and difficult for a bracket program to pay the overhead. 2/ The ownership has nearly no interest at all in Sportsman racing and would be happy to see it's demise. My observation: Jeff does absolutely all he can in a very difficult situation for the Sportsman Racing at LVMS. That is all I better say right now = But it is a serious problem at this point. |
Re: Not looking to well out west for racing
Understood.....Just venting I guess. Was really anxious this year about Div. 7. Wild Horse and Tucson cancelling, and Vegas up in the air, this years travel plans have changed quite a bit. Lots and Lots of extra Miles to get 8 races. And like you, don't feel good about Div. 7 opportunities going forward.
Fingers crossed for rest of year |
Re: Not looking to well out west for racing

Re: Not looking to well out west for racing
It's still baffles me that LVMS has to go by state guidlines but casino's get to be regulated by the gaming commision. I get the differences but when I was there last October for the double, my hotel was packed. People everywhere.

Gaming is a major financial tax support and employer in our State! Racing is not either one! I am not defending the Situation = Just explaining it! |

Well, I absolutely hate the term, "the new normal". But, ones on its way. Hopefully the post covid era offers great places to race again. I regard those days of racing just about whenever or where-ever I wanted, a luxury. "Back in the Day" was less than a year ago. |
