We are here finally! We are stacked but the lines are moving in to park. It has turned rainy and chilly! Not your typical Gainesville weather . The ground looks pretty soft so parking may go slow today. After all our escapades yesterday, I am just thankful to be here!!

Well,Orlando is only 1 1/2 hours away from gainesville, so if you want to spend $500 to win $10k I am sure Orlando will take your money and give you a time shot late saturday for sunday race

They lowered to $350 for Stock/Super tock. Not sure how many cars will pass up the chance for a class win.

I agree with Mike it is a shame that it was on the same weekend.

We are happy to be here and parked! It has rained off and on all day here and the grounds are really soft.

Just went to Cedar River Seafood for a wonderful dinner! Since we will be here for 2 weeks, I’m sure this won’t be the only time there!

Tomorrow is test and tune day. For me it is sleep in day!!

Seems to be lots of people here but with the weather bad, we have not been out exploring much. Oh don’t forget your long Johns! Down in the 40s a couple of nights this week!!

Will try to get some pix tomorrow!

If they've had as much rain as the rest of the Southeast I'm surprised you didn't need 4 wheel drive to get in. Unfortunately Ms Patsy I'll be of no help on this journey I was hoping to make the Baby's but we've had a death in the the family. You kids have fun!

Well it has rained all night but has finally let up. They are drying the track getting ready for test and tune at 11. It is only going to be 60s today and overcast. Not the FL weather I was looking for!!Then 40s tonight!!

I think NHRA TV is going to be live starting tomorrow! So follow along!!

Hi gang - I'd love to tell you that I'm getting ready for today's test and tune but those who know me well will tell you that with me it's always drama and this trip is no exception .Up at 4 AM getting ready when the phone rings - yep , Uber calling and can't make it to take us to the airport .So after triyng and failing to get another we hop in a car and drive .No problem right ?? Wrong - got to the check - in 30 minutes before takeoff and the lady says NO WAY .So I try( AND ALMOST BEG) for her to help us to no avail -here it comes - then I get a little loud and pretty soon here comes Security (a 40 year old thats about 275 and 6') and if he's not enough the Airport cops are called - all for this old geezer who must be a menace to everyone.Thanks a bunch American Airlines - I'll be sure to use you again .

All that but we'll get in tonight sometime on another flight..........All this for a little Sunshine and gas fumes - but in the end well worth it ! ! !

Get back at American Airlines Customer Service and file a complaint and ask for compensation.

The policy for most airlines is to start boarding 35 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. American Airlines even states on their own website that boarding ends 15 minutes prior to departure. The reason is that they shoot for a door closure of 10 prior to the schedule departure time and push back 5 minutes before the schedule takeoff.

You say you checked in 30 minutes prior to boarding and if that is the case and they denied you boarding it means they reassigned your seats to someone else and you should seek compensation.

Also, let them know that you will probably be filing a complaint also with DOT regarding this matter.

Well today was day for fixing leak in new vent in motorhome and test and tune! There were lots of people testing. And lots of racers here. They had to stop testing early so they are starting out with test and tune in the morning from 9:30-11:30. Then stock at 11:30.

It is still cold today. Going down to 47 tonight but up to 74 tomorrow.

Vic, it is supposed to be on NHRA TV, but I looked at it this morning and it said televising would start at 5PM today. If that's true we will miss all the qualifying for stock today.

Like they say -'what a difference a day makes 'and it sure applies to this race -yesterday was cold ,damp and just plain ugly .Today was sunshine and blue skies with temps in the high seventies - just the thing we come to Florida for .

This morning the track really had teeth and the first Stock and S/S qualifiers had some good numbers even with the DA around 1700 .Second pass the traction was not nearly as good for most and the DA went to the mid-twenties this afternoon .

All that was good but the rains earlier this week made for some very soggy pits and a bunch of unhappy racers - it should dry out tomorrow - but rain is expected Saturday .That could change ....we'll see .

For those of you watching NHRA TV we are having class runoffs starting at 8:30 in the morning .

Don’t know yet on mineshaft, but the starting line crew took the morning off. Bald spots big enough to see on tv, my favorite.

The tree broke this morning and NHRA got behind schedule. It looked like the crew ignored the bald spots to help get on schedule. So sad to have this happen on class day, what a cheat to us racers.

There is lots of racing still to go today! And they announced since rain is coming tomorrow, they are going to try to run first round in a lot of categories today. There are still at least 2, maybe 3 rounds of class left. We got lucky and made it thru round 1 of class only because our competitor was a no show. Those bald spots were worth a 1.96 60' for us. I think it went mindshaft, but we don't have a sheet yet since there was a rerun in class in N/SA.
