Without a tear down as well.

Re: Tuesday H.P.
The engine was still sealed from a teardown last fall ..... Maybe someone can highlight us as to why he was removed from the ladder...?
|
Re: Tuesday H.P.
Additionally, FYI , he was torn down (again) at Gainesville.
|
Re: Tuesday H.P.
Also, he wasn't removed from the ladder, he was a no show. ( probably because his engine was completely apart ...)
|
Re: Tuesday H.P.
I take it you were there Jim watching these tear downs. Hard to believe a stock bore production engine can seal up that well to make near 600hp. If not more! He goes .325 green and catches a second under competitor by the 660' is amazing all in its own. He has plenty left after coasting from the 1100' mark for all the F,G and still H cars now even at 322hp. Might need a better reaction though. That's what happens when you show that kinda performance. You bring extra gaskets.

Re: Tuesday H.P.
I have said this before. I was the one who got the piston approved which happened the last few days of Jan 2021. The only thing available before that time (The record set in Nov 2020) had to be a OEM piston. Chrysler doesn't make an oversized piston. You can buy an oversized piston from other vendors but that isn't approved. That is why I worked with Diamond and NHRA to get it excepted. It took a while. Is it stock bore, Left and right offset piston with a press on pin like stock OEM? If so it is good to go or does he claim stock piston and it isn't?

Re: Tuesday H.P.
If the car can run that fast it might be in the wrong class to start with. I think the car with the extra 22HP. only needs to add 92 Lbs. to move to G/SA or remove 69 Lbs. and move up to F/SA. This is from the 3620 Lbs. at 300 HP. that was the Min. weight at the 2021 Baby Gators for that car combination in H/SA. Kenney Kelley

Re: Tuesday H.P.
The 5.7 in a 2009 Challenger is rated by the factory at 370hp Net. It goes up from there for later ones. So why was it set at 300.... Payola?
|
Re: Tuesday H.P.
That combination is so soft it’s ridiculous. Compare it to an LS1. How it got in the guide at
300 is a mystery. It’s still a killer deal at 322. |
Re: Tuesday H.P.
What did the DQ’s get? I hope it is fair to all involved especially the racers that got beat by the the rules breakers.
|
Re: Tuesday H.P.
Doesn't the new Camaro combo get HP also@ 1.18 under?

Don't ask me how I know (1.31 under on my 360) |
Re: Tuesday H.P.
I was told by an SRT engineer 5 years ago that this was an easy 10.50 car
|
Re: Tuesday H.P.
1.18 under means nothing if the race goes mineshaft. Suggested reading AHFS on the competition page, it will answer your questions.

Re: Tuesday H.P.
Once again, I am not trying to single anyone out. But the Stocker corvette that had an illegal throttle body in the final of class for the Gators and got DQed, is now in Super Stock at the Gators.....and classified wrong on DRC, shows SS/F but should be SS/FA. Guess that Throttle body is legal for SS?? Jsut asking a serious question.

Re: Tuesday H.P.
Pete, he used to race an 05 Sunfire in SS so that data didn't get changed more than likely. Also I saw pictures of it making a pass in qualifying in super stock. But I guess the penalty would be just for Stock.
|
Re: Tuesday H.P.
How does the Super Stock competitor that went 1.23 under in a heads up eliminations run get the courtesy of having his engine builder tear his motor apart in his own trailer and then take the parts nhra wants to see to the tech people???

They kept the throttle body that was not up to their standards. Brought them a junkyard one which is sealed on the car now. I had to do a lot of different things they wanted me to and have talked with a lot of people all week. Yes I was punished and it goes much further than just a DQ at the points race. With that being said I don’t think the behind the scenes stuff is anyone’s business. -Cody |

I agree Larry. ....

Re: Tuesday H.P.
Larry I’ll just say this, ive always been very respectful of you but the last two weeks you’ve shown me exactly who you are... a keyboard almighty warrior at its finest. You don’t know one single detail about why I was thrown out yet you act like I should be sent to death row. Grow up and get off your key board if you have an issue with me or want to know every single little detail about my life. I was in Gainesville the entire time you were but you never made an effort to come talk (like a grown up) but rather come to your little forum (safe place) and bash someone’s integrity. I would have bent over backwards to help you or any other racer out in need but after this I can see who the snakes are and y’all can keep your little group of keyboard warrior nut huggers close because you definitely lost any respect I had - Cody

Re: Tuesday H.P.
Cody, I honestly was asking a serious question because NHRA has a habit of changing the penalty to fit the person. I wasn't trying to speak bad of you but whatever

Re: Tuesday H.P.
The best advice I received from my father “Never argue with a fool some people may not be able to tell the difference”
My thoughts you got caught cheating as determined by NHRA while running for class at the Gators. I think you need six months off for cheating. I wonder what the people you beat in class would think would be appropriate. Last time I checked there was no line in front of you if you care to have a discussion. I did not understand how you could race this week after being caught last week. Hey it’s NHRA ball, bat, and glove, I just try to follow the rules. |
Re: Tuesday H.P.
I owned my mess up and ran faster this past weekend with a rusted throttle body so go kick rocks.... and next time we have a problem with our other car instead of going to you, doing the right thing, and saying we won’t make this round I’ll just work all night to make sure we make it so you look like the fool you speak of when you can’t get your mess down the track. See you in Atlanta and see you A

LS1 Power, we all do it....it's called assumption. Until the actual truth comes out, it is what WE all do. It is human nature for the most part. But when we ASSUME....well, it's not hard to spell that out. Glad you aired out what happened. Not saying Bryan is or was in the wrong at all. Sometimes words on a screen get interpreted in the wrong context.

Re: Tuesday H.P.
I just found it odd that the tear down was at your trailer instead of a tech barn because that’s where every tear down I’ve been involved with has taken place. Thanks for the explanation.
