"Live" from the Mooresville National Open
 

Hello boys and girls, it's my first NHRA race of the year and an opportunity to pick up two valuable grade points. I must admit that's what attracted me the most to this race this weekend was the grade points.
I haven't been here to Mooresville in probably 10 or 11 years and the place looks great. We arrived a short while ago and there's appears to be quite a few cars here with rigs pulled up in every nook and cranny.
I believe the schedule gives us two Q runs tomorrow followed by eliminations and do it all over again on Sunday. First round for Stock and SS is random draw with no heads up runs then it's on a ladder from then on.
On another note I would like to thank Emily and Mike Volkman, they are adding $200 to the winner's purse for Stock and SS. Their business Service Department Solutions has been a great sponsor and friend to the sportsman racer here in D2!
Supposed to be quite chilly tonight with a slight chance of rain. I'll have more information in the morning.

I've been trying to find a sheet but so far no luck. As soon as I get one I will post it. It's moving rather quickly so far and we just finished our 2cd hit. 1st round will probably be around 2 so hopefully I can get a sheet.

Might not find one as it is random pairing. That happened last year at SGMP for the Sunday race. No sheets posted.

Butch I believe it was in the mid 30's both classes. Sorry no reports today but it's been moving so quickly. Right now it's Jim Marshall, Roy Caraway and myself left in Stock. Jim has the bye.

Monty Bogan Jr wins SS over Chet Fincke. Jim Marshall crushes me heads up in Stock. The Super Nova was full blown but we had fun. A few pictures later and we will try again tomorrow.

It's better than my side I thought my buddy Greg would take him out for me! Just wasn't our day but it was fun. I give Jim alot of credit, not only has he got a bad hot rod but he tried to get Cody to let us run off dial ins since the scales weren't working. I was fine with it the way it went, after all that's why we do what we do!

Good morning from race #2 on a sunny but chilly Sunday morning. We had a great time yesterday and last night! A little grilling and adult beverages with the Marshall's as we celebrated Jim's win and my unfortunate fate of having to run the Super Nova in the final.
I don't think today will be any different with Q sheets but once a ladder goes up I will post it.
By the way I'm switching to H today, a man shouldn't have to take a beating like that but once in a weekend!

Sorry folks I've found out these races move along so quickly it's impossible to do any reports. I got down to 5 today before the wheels fell off. When I left it was Terry Taylor and Rich Davis in the final of Stock. If anyone has any info on the winners feel free to post it.

Well I'm finally getting around to some pictures. Terry Taylor was the winner in Stock today and I never heard who won Super Stock.

Thanks I hated I didn't have time to do a proper report but we had a good especially after the final. We were last to run the finals so we got Jim's victory celebration started in the staging lanes while we waited!

Still pretty tough in that Maverick too, he's always been one you didn't want to meet up with for sure. I ran him Saturday and felt lucky to get by him.
