8:00 AM and it’s wet, but blue skies are on the way. It’s shaping up to be a fast weekend with no AFHS, so come to Bowling Green and see how much quicker your car is after all that hard work this winter.
One more minor detail...........NO MASK!!!!!! No masks in the restaurants either. |

Well, RAIN is the key word here and chances are we won’t see the track today for the scheduled T and T session. Yesterday was a warm day here with a high temp of 87 degrees, humidity at 47% and a barometer reading of 29.47 ....In the heat of the day the adjusted altitude was in the 2400 foot range. However, much cooler weather is forecasted after this rain moves through the area. I have been racing at Bowling Green for over 40 years and can’t ever remember wearing a sweatshirt in May ......

The most chance of rain all day is 5%, so we should be good to go all day!! 59 is the high so it should be fast! We have 2 runs today then run the Combo tonight. Drag racer.tv is broadcasting live starting at 9 with super street . Eliminations are tomorrow.

Well, currently we are 2 hours behind the announced starting time and a light mist has been falling from the sky and doesn’t appear to let up. It’s in the mid fifties now with a forecasted high of 60 degrees.

We're not having any better luck here at the D1 opener at Maple Grove. It's been raining since yesterday afternoon. They called it for today and will hopefully pick it back up tomorrow then finish on Monday. Several classes never made it down the track yet so they've got to be frustrated. 98 cars in stock and 72 in S/S after our first and only qualifier.

At or about 1 o clock in the afternoon superstreet hit the track and was followed by stock eliminator. YIPPEE ....I have been on the grounds since Wednesday evening so it was great to make my FIRST pass of the year. The weather conditions were 60 degrees,65 % humidity and 29.57 barometer . The adjusted altitude was 790 feet. I believe over 70 stockers made the first Q attempt. At least 2 rds. of the Clay Jones $5000.00 Stk/Superstock memorial race are scheduled to be run this evening ...

97 cars answered the call first round. Random pairing first and second round. Round 3 and 4 were laddered and will be finished today. We have six left 3 Stockers, Hill, Hill, and Smith, 3 Super Stockers, Kelly, Frantz, and Decker. I don’t know the pairs it’s early and we had a late night.

We did it! We won the Clay Jones Memorial race! $5000!!! That was fun!
Got beat in the 2nd round of the regular stock race. They are ready for the 3rd round of everything! But they are running brackets today too. 177 super pro cars!! |

Just want to say THANK YOU to all the racers that spent Memorial Day weekend with us at Beech Bend Raceway!
Saturday had to be the coolest day in the history of the SportsNATIONAL OPEN! We were very lucky to be able to race at all that day as the misty rain wasn't showing any signs of letting up till around 12pm. Congratulations to Larry Hill on picking up the Clay Jone's Memorial $5,000 Combo win! And a great job by Brianna Kelly on the Runner-up Finish. Also a big congratulations to TC Morris and Ryan Haag picking up the wins in Stock and Super Stock! Ryan won last weekends combo on Saturday Night! TC Morris has been in all 3 SS/S Combo points series races so far this year and gets the win in Stock this weekend! It was great to see everyone over the weekend and thank you again for racing at Beech Bend! |
