Winter Projects
Ok, the season is over and not much going on, who is building new racecars or new engine combinations?

Re: Winter Projects
I don't know if you can call it a winter project, but I am starting a 75 nova for stock
|
Re: Winter Projects
Rich, if we have a bad winter youre gonna need the new bullet for the snow blower and Joe, you need to juice up the golf cart its kind of slow now. Maybe if I drop a few lbs this winter you will only have to use the nitrous once in awhile. I hear Gulius can freshen it up, maybe it will pick up a few hundreds. LOL. Joe, maybe I will build a superstock scooter. If I do, will you have room in the trailer to haul it for me, or will I have to ask Ang??

Re: Winter Projects
I am ready to return to Super Stock racing after being out 4 years. I can't believe it has been that long!
Everything is new in my 64 Chevelle Wagon motor and trans. I spent money I didn't have on things I don't need-LOL! Will be ready early for once. Tried to get out this year, but the family/job had other ideas. Jeff 6990 SS/MA |
Re: Winter Projects
I just bought a stocker about 3 months ago. I have a bunch of work planed for the winter. New Paint so I have to pull the motor out before it goes to paint, all new weather stripping new wheels, sending headers to Nitroplate to get coated . Im sure I will find a bunch more stuff to spend money on.

Re: Winter Projects
I will hopefully get the engine to my Super Stock Project and successfully merge it with the Phil Mandella built chassi. The project started in December 2004 and I'm really exited to finally hit the track...maybe... 2008.

Re: Winter Projects
I have an Oldsmobile Starfire that I am starting on for stock. Plans were to use a 75 231 odd-fire V-6/auto combination, but some are trying to have me keep with the 305/auto ( mentioning no names here, Greg, ;) ). Still keeping my options open, like starting with the V-6 first to get my feet wet, then see were we go from there. Time and money will tell if it gets completed by spring. Re: Winter Projects
Way to go, a new muscle AMC on the block! I think that Rebel Machine will be more than competitive. Warning: You just got on the hit list here by mentioning that MOPR rear end. Of course it won't matter much...until you start going really fast!
There's a couple more AMC's on the horizon for '08. But I'll let them toot their own horns.. Myself, I'm trying to find .200 in '08. That's easy in SS, right? |
Re: Winter Projects
AMC's are COOL! I love my old CJ7!.......that and the fact I've been watching A.H. Adkins for years! The coolest car I saw the frist time I went to the track ...back in 85!

Re: Winter Projects
There will be a long skinny car in my future to compliment my stocker and 10.90 car. My wife is fussing about it ( You don't need 3 race cars) but I will get my way in the end. We may put the 350/255 combo back in the Nova and use the crate motor in a 1978 nova(that will make 4 I'm going to be in trouble) for a buddy to drive some.
Lots of projects to little time . Chip Johnson |
Re: Winter Projects
you are correct, and most of the time the air isnt that great, but if ican get the machine to run good there i mite have something to compete with,we will see gmonde

Re: Winter Projects
Doesnt look like much is going on this winter. No new chasis or new motor combos coming out>???

Re: Winter Projects
Add A.M.C. to my list of cars I wished I had never gotten rid of. In 74 I bought a 70 Javelin SST A friggin Mark Donahue signature car! Big spoiler on the back, cold air hood and a 360. with a big A.V.S. Had vacum powered windshield wipers in 70! Bought it from a used car lot for $1500.Wound up swapping it for a 69 Mach 1 .
I do have a winter project 76 Camaro will be bracket car though.I"m really just finishing it to sell or trade, but might keep it if it wins a few rounds. |
