"Live From" Class Racer Nationals

Hey everyone, well its finally here... the Class Racer Nationals. The weather for this weekend looks great, mid 70's for Saturday and Sunday, mostly sunny.
Lots of rigs stayed here after the division race, so there are no lines to get in, it should be a smooth day today. Also there is a test and tune from 10 to 4, $30 how can you go wrong. Numidia is such a great place to race. A few notables... Jason Line is here along with his cylinder head guy Dan Blabolo. Dan was here last year and he had a blast, we are happy to have them both. Robert Pond from division is also here, man what a tow. Below are a few shots of the Checks, Trophies and the coolest tumblers you ever saw. Cody Phillips from Phillips Auto Body did a rush order for us and they are just killer. |

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of reports, lots of running around to do. We tried youtube live stream, but as always there was an issue. We are on facebook live now..... https://www.facebook.com/pages/categ...9441468406709/
A few shot from yesterdays test and tune... I do have a cool in car camera with Jason Line, I'm hoping to have it edited and posted later today. |
Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
Hey guys, sorry for the lack of reports. I just don't have the time. We are in the 4th round of Stock and Super Stock. The 2nd chance race is running now and Top Stock will be out for their first qualifier next.
I can't thank the racers enough that came back along with they guys and girls who just wanted to race the Class Racer Nationals.... your guys are the best. We had free coffee and doughnuts this morning and everyone has been so great to deal with. The weather has been great, low 70's, a very pleasant day. I will have photos up later, Doug Walker is here and he will have his great actions as he always. |

The _______'in Hawaiian! The ever colorful James Perrone is always fun to talk to with his eccentric personality and cool 1969 Chevy Nova. James is high volume all the time and the same goes for his 350/255hp combination with a McClay Metric 200 transmission.

The former Pro Stock and Stock Eliminator champion has returned to his roots to not only put on big money Stock and Super Stock races, but to support and compete as well. His C/SA Buick with a 455ci motor ran Top Stock at this event despite being 200lb heavy for the class and really put on a show by almost winning the race.

Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
Thanks Doug, great work.
Stock Winner Tom Russell, took out James Vignogna in the final. Super Stock, Bill Ryan and Dan Fletcher, two great friends decided to split the final so we have co winners for the Super Stock final. James Vignogna took out Dan Fletcher in the runner up run off. Barry Parker took out Bob Moran in the Top Stock final. It was a great race, Parker went 9.92 to Moran's 9.94. Hats off to these guys, true Top Stock competitors. The 2nd Chance race went to Herbie Null, Null took out Shane Oakes in the final. |

Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
Little disappointed that only 8 cars ran but that was partially offset by seeing Jason Line competing in it with his amazing Buick. Enjoyed Bobby’s interview of him and one of the announcer’s (who shall remain nameless) comments “and who is that again?”. Comparing this race to the Pomona s..t show is almost humorous and paraphrasing Jason in his interview “when you’re a car guy you’ll always gravitate to Stock and Super Stock”, nuff said.

Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
Good morning all, day 2 and another great weather day. Stock and Super Stock get one time shot and then we go into eliminations. Yesterday we had some great racing, and although we only had 8 Top Stock cars they put on a great show with tight racing. I want to thank the 8 drivers that showed up, you guys are the best.
As far as the rest of the racing, I can't say enough about everyone for coming out and supporting the Class Racer Nationals. You guys are what Class Racing is all about... thank you so much. If you go the the Class Racer facebook pagre you can catch up with the photos of winners and also the giveaway winners. https://www.facebook.com/pages/categ...9441468406709/ Thanks to Doug Walker for his super actions shots. Its going to be a busy day, so I will be back later with final thoughts and of course the winners. We should be done by 3 today. |
Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
What a great event! Thanks to Ken and his team, also thanks to Doug for the great photos!

The Kennedy family are regulars at most Division 1 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events showing their Pontiac pride. The Ken Racing fleet includes two Firebirds and a junior dragster to get their next generation driver ready for competition. Bill is a skilled driver and true sportsman, however he just might have to watch as someone else may be trying to jump in his driver's seat.

Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
The father/son Ruff N Ready team of Pete and Shane Oakes from PA is always a tough draw and has proven they can go deep rounds in all 3 cars at just about every event they enter. Shane drives Stock and Super Stock cars and flies far under their indexes with Steve Ficacci power under the hood. Beautiful paint by Cody Phillips and a gorgeous Kenny Richard interior makes the cars really stand out when they are in the pits and the winners circle.

Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
Thank you to Doug Walker for all the photos and Bobby Fazio for the interviews. Looks like an awesome event for all - win or lose.
Kudos to Jason Line for making it into the 9's with the Buick - WOW!!! |
Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
Hey guys,
The second annually Class Racer Nationals are in the books. In Super Stock it was Billy Ryan over Johnathan Allegrucci. Billy Ryan had a fantastic weekend wining both days in Super Stock. Billy also proposed to his girl friend Amy Saturday night... wow, what a night. The Stock final it was Don Pires vs Joe DeMarzo. The drivers decided to split the purse. Joe and Don were driving great, and it was a heads up final but they talked it over and decide to just split. I have to say that both drives are a class act, and personal friends of mine. We finished around 2pm, the day went supper smooth. My thoughts on this race... I have to say that the racers that stayed from the division race and the ones that just came to the Class Racer Nationals are what Class Racing is all about. I did not meet one racer that was not happy to be here. I was so humbled by the kind words and to see so many happy racers and crew. I don't understand why NHRA can't treat us like they we treat racers. It did not cost me one dime to be nice and show respect to all that entered the Class Racer Nationals. May staff treats everyone like a customer with smiles and respect. Why is it so hard for NHRA. I have to be honest, it was disappointing that more racers did not stay at the Class Racer Nationals. There were a 182 Stock and Super Stock racers here for the division race, but 57 racer went home. I do understand people have commitments and there is breakage, but Its hard to figure why some racers did not stay. I wanted to give racers a place where they are respected and where they are the stars. I hope more people make it next year, I promise you will have a great experience. We have learned a lot and and I know it will be even better next year. Jason Line, Dan Blabolil came a long way along with Robert Pond from D7. I could not thank these guys enough. Jason came to support the race and was just going to run stock. We only had 6 cars for Top Stock and Jason told me, "sure I'll jump in". He could get to minimum weight, but it did not stop him from being part of a super show. Dan the Cylinder guru that works with Jason came for the second time, and had a blast. I was also humble how Jason, Dan and Robert where so happy to be here. I talk to Jason for a long time and we tried to figure out why we can not get bigger car counts even when there is more money and prizes, we just came up blank. I would also like the thank Angelo DiTocco for jumping into Top Stock, it gave us a 8 car 3 round filed. To the Top Stock guys that could not make, I sure hope you try to make it next year, I know you will have good time. The 8 car filed put on a super show. Yes we will be back next year, and it will even be better. We have great staff and I guarantee you will be treated like stars! Thanks to everyone for making the Class Racer Nationals, you guys are the soul of Class Racing... and Thanks so much to the DiMino family, I not could ask for a better track to race at. Check out the Class Racer facebook page for more photos and info...https://www.facebook.com/pages/categ...9441468406709/ |

Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
Ken,
Congrats on a great event, I hope the racers realize the hard work and dedication you & your team put into these events. I can say my thoughts are exactly the way I felt years back after 2 attempts at a .90 Nationals at Numidia and one year with Lee & Brian and one year trying it on my own for Stock & SS big event there. You just can't figure out what to do, you guarantee payouts, give them specialty events, have a cool trophy, checks, etc and the most important part is treat them like they are a customer and wanted at your race. I was saying after seeing the numbers at the D1 race and knowing you were the week after, I said Ken's going to knock this out of the park this year. Just keep pushing and trying to make it better and better each year is all you can do and I know .90 cars are not the show but, I'm sure if you ever wanted to team up, just let me know. |
Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
WOW! Anyone who missed this race missed a lot, 2 days of great racing, no snow mobiles only Stock & Super Stock! The Top Stock show was incredible to watch, talk about fast cars. Congratulations Barry (Crazy Cow) Parker. 9.92 131.51
This was my second year at this event and is on my schedule next year even if I miss a Divisional race. When I entered Friday to prep everyone was welcoming, I thought I died and went to the land of Oz.... Any questions I had, Answered! Any idea's for next, Welcomed! This was a class act from the go...... I want to thank Class Racer Forum (Ken Miele), MicroStrategy Tech Solutions, ATI, Gold RUSH Trailers, Weldon, IRC, Oakes Landscaping, Biondo, Dan Fletcher Trailer Sales, Motorsports Innovations and DRC Racing for supporting sportsman racing. In addition the staff who worked were the best. Dan, Tim, Deanna and Taylor Fletcher, Kaylin Guenther, Russ Wernes, Bill Holmes, Dave Ley and the Numidia staff I say thank you for a great show. I was a disappointed in the turn out because all I read is there is no races for sportsman, we get treated like poorly, there is no money to win, we only get 1 run, blah blah blah you missed a great race. Finally, As some of you know a great sportsman racer and my friend Larry Guest recently passed. Larry has been around racing a long time and I leave you with our favorite quote: "The Future is now!" |
Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
Great races! I had a blast! Some of the best people in racing, attended. Thanks to all the track personnel, track owner, Ken, the Fletcher family, Dave Ley, Russ, "Wild" Bill Holmes, the cook, the sponsors, and all the racers. The weather was nice, as well.

Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
What he ^ (Joe DeMarzo) ^ said……. x 2 !
Super professional job by the promoters and staff hands down. One can see how much they really enjoy what they do. My compliments to all involved. I also hope this is an event that stays around moving forward. |
Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
A great event for sure, thanks to all that made it happen. It was extra nice to be able to leave the trailer after the divisional.
It was my wife's first time at Numidia, and everything about it and the event greatly impressed her.......she brought up the point of the year: Why don't you guys just always race like this? IE Stock and Superstock only races. She does have a point......Certainly from the spouse spectator standpoint, the lack of other classes, greatly improves the experience thats a no-brainer for me for these events! Congrads to all the winners, and thanks again to all that made it happen, and the extra prizes that make it even more fun. Eric |

Hey guys, I'm so glad you guys had a good time. I have few more photos, these are from Evan Smith... cool shots for sure.
I need to clear up something that I wrote on my final thoughts of the race. When I said I wish NHRA would treat us like the way we treat racers at the Class Racer Nationals, I should have been more specific. Its only the nationals that most of us have issues with. The Division are always more desirable. D1 is always a great place to race at and I would much rather run a divisional race than a national. The nationals have lost that special feeling for me. Its just not a fun place to race anymore. The divisionals on the other hand are fun... I have been to D1, D2, and D3 and they always welcome us and treat us like customers, and I'm sure all the division are like that. I wish I could say the same for the nationals. |
Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
Are you going to post the qualification sheets and round results?
This way those of us who didn't attend can see what went on. |
Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
Thanks again Ken! I had a great time! Stayed the week in between races, everyone involved were there for the same reason! To race & have fun! This was my first one, in a new car to boot, it sure won’t be the last! Thank you to everyone involved!
|
Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
Great job by everyone involved, just for the life of me can't figure out why some didn't attend. Like to hear they're reasons. The only thing I think could make it better would be class eliminations and posted qualifying sheets. Don't know how it could be done without adding another day witch would drive promoters cost up significantly. To many let their egos cloud their thinking

Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
A freak'n Buick going 9.95 way over minimum weight, holy ****! That's some serious steam.
|
Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
Very nice work Evan!
|
Re: "Live From" Class Racer Nationals
Ken i say don't post nothing, Q or ladders people wants to know whats going on, THEN be there, support his race and maybe we can race for more money and you Wally chasers stay home, we don't need ya's, Thanks again great race.
