 Typical baja banditos...the only good one is a dead one!!! IMO we should use them as target practice for U.S. Special Forces.

I have to say as many times as I have been to BAJA I have never had a problem We used to race Mexicali often and the Chief of Police used to meet us at the border and escort us to the track. Everyone from San Diego County knows that the Federal Police near TJ are the worst and will mess with you if you look like you have something worth taking. I have driven three times to Cabo from San Diego and never a problem with Law Enforcement. Would never drive it again now that I am older and smarter!!! You have to remember you are in another country that has no rules and the laws are made when and if you get hassled. Generally 20 bucks will get you down the road if you are stopped. Attitude has alot to do with what happens and you had better know how to speak the language!!! La Paz is the place to go in BAJA.... The water near La Paz is 85 deg. plus year round and really beautiful. If you go to La Paz ask for Jack Velez! he is the man!

What does the Bush administration have to do with any of this? You are a fool.

How about not standing up to the presidents of Mexico (Fox and Calderon). Neither one of these presidents stopped the rampant corruption of the local and federal police. Every time we went down there to race, we were usually ticketed for something that we did not do or had things stolen from us. When we make a report the police, its like talking to a wall.

A few years back on the way back from an NHRA race in Monterrey Mexico The Nickens boys got hustled out of $500.00 for going the wrong way to the border & ending up in a residential area. One cop stopped them & then called more to get their take before the Nickens off. Granted that wasn't near a bad as getting a rig stolen at gunpoint but this was the police..

Just ignorant blathering...do you actually think this is a priority? Let me get this straight, it is Prsident Bush's fault northern Mexico is full of bandits and criminals? How is he supposed to "stand up to" Fox and Calderon? What, if the bandits are not cleaned up we are going to invade? I have a kidney stone, should I blame Bush? FYI it is not our president's fault to clean up the Mexican local and federal police. If you are not comfortable with the situation there DO NOT GO THERE. Don't just say "oh, the Bush administration is not getting the job done." It is not their job to do. There is plenty to blame on Bush...but this has noting to do with him.

I did not mean to turn this into a political debate, obviously you and I have differnet opinions that will never agree. If you read the post I sent from Race-dezert, you would have gotten the fact that we are not going back until the meexican government cleans up the area. Hopefully our dollars will do the speaking.
