Slow Runs!

If the NHRA is looking at increments, how should a run with issues be treated? (That still meets the criteria to lower the average.) I'm talking about missed shifts, tire spin, etc.

When my opponent red lights, I usually drop at 1,000 feet. How should that be treated?

(Ken, sorry if I've passed my thread limit. I know that the NHRA is looking at ways to "fix" the AHFS. I also know that they read some of these threads. This might be our chance to get our opinions considered. Thanks!)

The only place for thread limits are the Classifieds... post away.

NHRA has a perfectly good "handle" on 1/8th mile E.T.s VS 1/4 mile. No need to have to come up with something new and complicated.

NHRA is content with the AHFS the way it stands and has no plans to make any more changes in the near future. This is just fluff.

Says the man with 6,000+ posts. I do know how to communicate with the people at NHRA. Just ask questions. It doesn't take a prolific forum dude to understand their answers.

Do ya now! Well I'm sure that every member on this forum (prolific and not-so-much) would love to know your secret!
Just one more thing, are you communicating with them or talking at them?

You never learn anything when you're talking. There is no secret to asking questions. A genius from the PA hills should know this.

You can learn a lot from talking. You can find out if a person knows anything about the subject he's talking about.
Ya don't have to be a genius to figure that out.
Let alone a no-name newbie.

You forgot to mention that the man uses his own name..for the sake of credibility ;-)

How can the system ever work when you are allowed to drag the system back in time?

No name defense when you're spinning fluff doesn't work.

Why don't you enlighten me and let me know what "fluff" I'm spinning.

I try not to get into opinions. I got tired of reading some of the posts here and wanted to offer legitimate info to counter some of the obvious agenda based posts. None of what I offer has an mpact on you because you are not a racer. Gumple is an old German name. Good luck on the Internet this year.

Some people have issues with every run - not enough power - and those are the ones NHRA tries to identify.

I think that there is some truth to that. But, how do you regulate the slower car that still runs old technology? The Cutlass that Chip drives is a great example. So far, it has responded very well to minor upgrades and attention.

Once a racer always a racer. Who are you, Don Garlits? That's a German name too.

Every time I let the clutch go, it's a slow run, it's when my shoe polish bottle runs dry is when I'll really start to worry. I don't know if I can stay up with technology or if I really want to. I'll still enjoy racing and not worry what the guy in the other lane is doing. I keep the engine family levels low.
