Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
After a 9 1/2 hour trip on some of America’s best roadways. Lmao. I have arrived and am #106 in line. A little different weather this weekend quite a bit cooler than the 90’s I’ve been racing in. Next couple days are forecast in the mid 50’s. Love this area and the northern racers. Some I haven’t seen in over a year. Will report back tomorrow

Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
Well you guessed it. it’s raining here this morning, it is now 1030 still crappy looks like a break in the weather around lunchtime
maybe we will get on the track today but some serious changes to the schedule will occur |
Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
Some sportsmen qualifications began. But then stopped, the super comp guys were told to go back to their pits. Time for the pros S/st was out first and I had to lift after 1000’. Was spinning and almost lost control. It is still damp and cold. No update on rest of schedule

Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
A friend of mine got an update text saying Time trial number two tomorrow morning can’t confirm it but I’m keeping my fingers crossed

Waking up to a better day supposed to be low 70s and fairly nice we do get another time run this morning and then three rounds of eliminations so it will be a very busy day
|
Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
Made it down the track with no problems all set and ready to go for 1st round
the weather is definitely improving although my pit area is still a mud pie |

Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
What a difference it makes when the sun comes out conditions were changing quickly while sitting in the staging lanes but I made it through that round. 003 and was able to get on the brakes pretty good seems I would’ve went 10.904. Our next runs will be after the pros. Stock got bumped
|
Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
They just called Superstock back to the lanes looks like we’re back in business
|
Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
Made it past second round on a close one my relay for the fan quit but hey it’s only 15 years old. Back out tomorrow
|
Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
Since we are just filler. You should have plenty of time to fix that.

ended up he was made to come back and scale correctly, he ended up at 2520 pounds I was reinstated, it is a very long story but that’s the short version. |

Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
280 pounds light deserves more than a DQ….sure his earlier opponents feel the same way.
|
Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
Yeah the worst thing with that is the guy knew he was illegal told us he just didn’t think they would weigh him
|
Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
Keith,
Congrats on the RU. That's crazy about the dq |
Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
Sorry I forgot to post the winners and runners up:
Rob Hyatt over Brad Corvel in super comp Ted Lahey over Mike Sawyer in super gas John Olson over Keith Mayers in super Street Congrats to all the winners and runners up in the dot 90 categories!!!! see you in a few days, I am at Lebanon Valley now, of course the wife is going to kill me for never coming home |
Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
My Vega with a small block weighed 2515 with me in it and well over 100lbs of steel plates in the back. That was when S/ST had a 2500lb weight minimum! Getting to 2800 would not have been possible with a small block. I was very surprised they weighed cars and DQ’ed that racer. That’s blatant though, 300lbs !

And actually we get weighed quite a bit, Should happen more but my thoughts would be do it first round only that way they can reinstate anybody that got beat by someone underweight so there would be no regrets later on when the other 2 to 3 people they beat have to sit at home and stew about it. i stay on top of it myself, and try to keep the car at 2820, it just doesn’t make no sense why bring a car out that you know was illegal. He could have ran super gas |
Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
Here in D5 we typically get weighed after one of the time runs, as long as the scale location/track layout makes that feasible.
My car weighs 3575 so I don't put much thought into it! |

Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
Hi everyone,
My name is Michael Reynolds and I drive the SST Vega that was light this past weekend in Epping. I want to apologize to everyone for my actions. I have very limited SST experience and did not take this rule seriously enough. I just bought this car last year and did not think much of the weight given that I only race SST once or twice per year and the car only runs 130 mph. I certainly was not trying to gain a competitive advantage by not meeting the minimum weight but I now realize that this negligence on my part was a poor decision. I assume full responsibility for my decision to not check the weight of my car and I will not make a mistake like this ever again. My sincere apologies. Michael |
Re: Live from the lobster nationals .90 style
Glad to hear that. I like the taking responsibility. Not much of that left in todays society. You’re a good racer hope you get some wins in whichever class you choose
